Quentin Groves not even in the first round?

Not in this mock. He's a 3-4 OLB I think and his stock is going to depend a lot on his workouts. I just don't see a spot for him. Harvey and Gholston are ahead of him right now.

Groves could play the 4-3. Granted he would be a smallish pass rush specialist, but it's a passing league and just like the demands on tight ends to block will decrease, the demands on defensive ends to stop the run will go down.

i like the Rams pick he would be great for our D-Line opposite of Little

I just don't like Dan Connor fitting in that well on our defense. I just don't see him as fast enough to play a WILL, which is what we truly need. I'd prefer Talib if you have him coming out or Mike Jenkins.

I'm not sold on Groves in 4-3. I don't know if he has the skills necessary to play that position. Even if he did, would he go ahead of Keith Rivers in a 4-3? I just don't see it.

I had a tough time choosing between Rivers and Connor but I think Connor is the better value at that point. A lot will depend on workouts though.

If Rivers is still available, he is our guy. Much more suited for our defense and I just plain like him more. =D

What skills are necessary to play in the 4-3 that he doesn't have? He's been playing in a 4-3 his entire career.

And Rivers is a linebacker, that's apples and oranges.

I'm not saying that Groves HAS to go in the 1st. In my opinion he's a late 1st guy, but I don't think he could only be drafted by 3-4 teams.

WR is a MUCH bigger need than LB IMO. Malcolm Kelly would be perfect there

the mock draft was just great, but the only pick i question is the vikings
i really cant see the vikings passing on a future franchise QB
thats there missing piece of the puzzle

grrr i hate drafting a QB in this class...they all scream bust. I wish we would have drafted brady last year dammit. Or kyle boller would grow some balls and develop into the star he was supposed to be coming out. Stupid tedford QBs. We have a HUGE need at CB that will be overruled because of brian billicks complete inability to develop a QB with all the tools needed. Dammit, the world isnt fair.

Meh to the Vikings pick. Give us Woodson instead.

Oh, we're talking about different things. I thought you were talking about Groves as a 4-3 OLB, not a 4-3 DE.

I think his value is highest as a 3-4 OLB but I could see him being selected as a 4-3 DE although he needs to refine his technique to be successful in the NFL at that position.

I think the Vikings SHOULD take Woodson. Unfortunately, I think that if Brad Childress is the coach (which I suspect he will be) he will stick with Jackson.

I'm not sure the Bills will invest in a wide receiver with their 1st pick, depending where it ends up. They already have their #1 and #3 solidified so a 2nd or 3rd round wide receiver might make more sense.

I think at this stage Sam Baker is a solid pick. Donald Penn has played satisfactorily, but Baker has a lot more potential.

If you wanted to get Groves into the first, SF would be a nice fit. I'm sure Chris Williams would be there at the top of the 2nd round where as Groves may not.

That depends how their stocks play out. Williams is moving quickly up draft boards and I think the 49ers will invest a lot of resources into their horrendous offence this year.

You made the correct choice going with Desean Jackson... Andre Woodson's slow delivery would very much worry me considering Childress runs the west coast offense.

I don't really like him in this blocking scheme, though. I really don't think he's a good fit.

Definitely Chris Long here.

Not a big fan of the Chris Long pick to the Jets, because we already have enough lightish ends and our run defense is terrible. He's too small for the 3-4 to do anything but play end on passing downs IMO, and you're not going to take a guy that isn't an every down player top 5 when you have as many needs as the Jets.
