He had a hell of a game today despite the fact the Chiefs lost to the damn Raiders. Yes, I do realize this is the Raiders horrible run defense, but you should also keep in mind that Smith was running behind the horrible Chiefs offensive line.

31 carries, 150 yards, 2 touchdowns

Not sure what other rookies did today but I don't see any way Smith does not win rookie of the week.

Kansas City Line + Oakland Rush D + Tony Gonzalez - every other running back on KC= Kolby Smith getting 150.

and how long has there been a rookie of the week award?

It's not like the KC o-line is that amazing anymore.

also note to KC front office - 2 RB systems are not abnormal

Exactly. The Chiefs fall in love with one runningback and they completely ignore the backup.

I think Kolby Smith can be the lightning to LJ's thunder. Kolby Smith made some cuts that were just sick. He is a little shiftier than LJ and offers a change of pace.

I hope Brodie Croyle develops because with him, Bowe, Smith, and LJ we have a good foundation for our offense. Of course, it's too bad our stupid front office didn't realize that an offense is built from the inside out. Without an offensive line nothing else matters.

Good for Kolby but there is no need to make a thread after each game praising an individual performance.

He's a rookie in his first ever start and he will likely win rookie of the week. It's not like I do this often or something.

Oakland gave up 122 to Ron Dayne.

Just saying.

He replaced Michael Bush in Louisville and was soild. He'll be a soild back-up for the Chiefs.

It's hard for any lineman to do so. Unfortunately, that's the way it is.

I guess the Raiders felt he wasn't ready to play this year because they never took him off the PUP so he is out for the rest of the season. One article I read said that they might have activated him but if they did they would have had to cut Lamont Jordan and the Raiders were afraid an AFC West opponent like KC or Denver would sign him since both teams have several injuries at runningback.

Bush is on the IR.
And as for Kolby Smith.Im pretty sure when Tommy Kelly went down for the season we knew every starting RB that went up against the Raiders was gonna get over a 100 yards.

Smith is projected 19 fantasy points this week against the Chargers in my yahoo fantasy league

I expect him to get somewhere between 20-25 rushes 75-110 yards and a TD this week against the charger.

I'm not sure rookie of the week deserves it's own thread either, especially considering there is already a rookie discussion thread. This is team forum material.
