Anybody got anything on this guy? Seems like he's come out of nowhere and Scott has him ranked in the top 10 of his senior CB's and he just debuted on Kiper's Big Board. Is he really that good? Is he a round 2-3 guy if a lot of the juniors come out?

Yeah I've been wondering the same thing. Mike Mayock has him listed as the second best senior CB. Take that for what it's worth though as Mayock lists Philip Wheeler as both the best ILB prospect and the 4th best OLB prospect, doesn't have Jon Goff among his top 5 senior ILBs, Jordy Nelson among his top 5 senior WRs or Antoine Cason among his top 5 senior CBs.

Apparently from what I've been able to dig up he's a fantastic returner and Georgia coaches raved about him.

He's got good speed, he is a return specialist. Good coverage skills. Great in run support, he tackles well for a CB.

Doesn't show a great change in direction. Doesn't seem to fit well in zone coverage.

according to another site, as well as my own opinion.

Before this season, he was really only considered as a RS. But supposedly he's played great along with the rest of the Troy Trojans and thusly his stock has risen dramatically. He's dominated the Sun Belt over his career, but it's the Sun Belt. I don't think he should get any more hype than Terrell Thomas or Tracy Porter. I see him as a nickel back in the NFL and a RS drafted in the 3rd round.

I'm surprised Kenny Cattouse, Omar Haugabrook, or Gary Banks haven't gotten much attention.

Troy has played 3 SEC teams (also Okl. St.) this year so the scouts will have film on him going up agianst WR not in the sun belt. I remember he gave up a TD to Sean Bailey in the UGA game.

This is the time of year where everybody wants to be feeding the hype machine of some little heard of player... to make public that they were onto him for a long time... then it gets to the point where everyone starts to overrate him.

Remember Kevin Boothe? or Antoine Bethea? how about Daniel Manning?

Good point, but Bethea turned out to be a steal for the Colts.

Oh my point wasn't that McKelvin won't make it... He could be the next Rashean Mathis... Point is, this is time where all the draft gurus start simultaneously overhyping small school players. Bethea ended up being a 6th rounder, but from the sound of his hype leading up to the draft, you would've believed he was worth a 3rd.

I am probably underrating him a bit in my rankings but I want to see more tape before I put him in my Top 3-5. I think he has a good shot at going in round two or three though. He will also be at the Senior Bowl.

Bethea was a steal
Boothe I loved at the time, but I think was cut by Oakland and picked up by the Giants, although someone needs to check my facts
Manning is doing well in Chicago is he not?

Has anyone seen McKelvin play?..I've seen him atleast 6 times over the past 2 years, and the guy can flatout play. Tremendous in man coverage, so that will certainly draw a lot of attention...I think if your looking for a comparison, Terrence McGee of the Bills is who I compare him too. Extremely athletic and very rangy...covers a lot of field, and plays very fast too. I think everyone knows this guy is deadly with the ball in his hands as well..

Boothe is on the roster, but he's been inactive for a while now, no injuries either.

I think Chicago has been disappointed with Manning of late..not sur either

Thats what the Bears get for drafting the "special people"
