Final week. This is depressing. A lot of good games with the conference championships.

Going to the UCF/Tulsa game so I'll miss the BC/VT game but I should be home for the SEC champ. Only "upsets" I see happening are OU over Mizzou and maybe OSU over Oregon.

Yeah, I hope that doesn't happen, UCLA is bad and no team that losses to Notre Dame should make a BCS game, the Rose bowl would lose alot of creditablity and ratings IMO.

Love the sig by the way, Megan is smokin

nice little email all wvu students got today (only parts):

Alcoholic beverages and any hard containers (glass bottles/metal cans) are prohibited in the stadium. Anyone found in possession of these items is subject to removal from the stadium and, if under age, also cited.
Those visibly intoxicated will be denied admittance and cited.
There will be no "pass outs" issued - if you leave the stadium you will not be allowed to re-enter.

Only authorized personnel are permitted on the field; those who enter are trespassing and will be arrested, fined and face University disciplinary action. In addition, an unlawful assault on an emergency responder is considered a felony.

RU wins fairly big, considering Teel should only throw 10-15 times. My question is:

Over/under 250 yards for Raymell Rice tonight?

I'm thinking 269

kwilk103
11-29-2007, 04:35 PM
depends on which ul shows up: the one against wvu or the one that quit on their coach vs usf

more important questions: me and my friends goin to the game saturday, want to know what to take

sugar bowl, you take sugar
rose bowl, you take roses
fiesta bowl, tositios
orange bowl, oranges

we're thinking mardi gras beads; bourbons out due to being patted down this game, and no alcohol allowed

It's not power at all. They wouldn't try those kicks if he didn't have the legs. He's not an accurate kicker. He has a very, very strong leg.

This game is depressing. We would have had such a good year if Teel could have stayed healthy.

yes, i also cried myself to sleep. honestly, it's not as bad as the first 4. This game meant nothing really except final record and bragging rights. We're in the INternational bowl, and will most likely win that. Our young kids better mature fast for next year. On the bright side, Teel's thumb looked about 85% by his throws last night.

Yea i'm a homer, but I feel RU will be ranked next year, at some point.

Being ranked obviously means nothing. Rutgers was ranked somewhere around 10th this year werent they? Now they are probably lucky to be in the top 50. As a fan how could you say this game meant nothing? Sure it did it just showed how bad Rutgers is. If your up 18 in the 2nd half and cant hold on thats terrible.

for the first time in 3 years, I'm pissed at Schiano. multiple 3rd and under 4, and we pass it? give it to Ray Ray on our last possession on 3rd and 2. and the team got too complacent. Trust me, this game means less than you may think. If anything it'll motivate the key JR's to stay and not go out on a not so good season

Well where exactly are the juniors going to go? No one from Rutgers is projected to be a 1st round pick so I would say its pretty dumb for any of them to leave. Is any one even projected to go in the 2nd? Rice maybe? I think the loss means alot its pretty embarassing for Rutgers to finish 5th in a terrible Big East, and below .500. Especially when people actually thoight they were good when they were playing their cupcake schedule at the beginning of the season.

Greene and Rice could easily be 2nd rounders. Yes, it was an awful year. The D has no playmakers at LB, as our best was hurt up until just a couple game ago.(D'Imperio Soph). Teel's thumb was hurt, which is no excuse but needless to say did play a part in his and the offenses preformance.

By national standards, coming off last year, this season was bad. Coming from a Rutgers fan for the last 15 years, it was a good season and we still have a bright future with joisey boys staying home for the 1st time in basically forever.

And for comfort, I just think this year for us wasnt nearly as disappointing as it was for Louisville. yea they beat us, but ranked top 10 to start the season? and finishing .500 overal thats pretty bad

As far as Louisville and where they were ranked isnt their fault. Thats why they should stop preseason rankings, and not come out with rankings until the 3rd or 4th week in the season. I think it was worse that after people seen Rutgers playing they had them around 10th and they were playing nobodys. So just because you have been a long time Rutgers fan anytime they go to a bowl game its a good season? I dont understand. The International Bowl for a team that was once ranked 10th isnt to impressive. Some Jersey kids are going to Rutgers yes, but are 2 and 3 stars the answer with the occasional 4 thrown in their? They will never be able to compete in the watered down Big East with recruits like that. Pittsburgh is having a terrible year this year, and they have a better class coming in next year then Rutgers. West Virginia of course is the best team in the East ,and have the best class coming in next year. The only way I see that changing is if Brian Kelly stays at Cincy. I think Schiano has done a great job at Rutgers, but if I were him and offers were coming up elsewhere I would definitely entertain them.

RyanLeaf#1
11-30-2007, 03:15 PM
And to add to my above comments Rutgers only got 4 of the top 30 recruits in the state of Jersey to attend their school. Thats not to good.

scottyboy
11-30-2007, 04:32 PM
I think you are underestimating RU and the recruits they are getting, and I agree with you, i hate preseason rankings. All they did was boot RU's hopes up very high. Bit my point is this was still a good year by Rutgers standards. Normally they're the laughing stock of the Big East winning 3-4 games max.

You said before rankings dont matter, and then you say being once ranked 10 and then going to the INternational bowl isnt good...

I think RU's future is a LOT brighter than many think. And trust me, i think i know a bit more than most on the subject of RU ;)

So let me ask you something. A good season for Rutgers is going 7-5 and 3-4 in a terrible Big East Conference? And not also playing in the easy Big East, but playing a SOS which is one of the easiest in the nation. Look who the 7 wins came against : Buffalo, Navy, Norfolk State, Syracuse, South Florida, Army and Pittsburgh. I think you are basing Rutgers standards on standards that may have been set 3-5 years ago. Im pretty sure if you asked Schiano before the season started that his standards were set way beyond a 7-5 season. I trust that you know more than most on the subject of RU because thats your team. Of course your going to know them like the back of your hand.

I'm trying to figure out what Les Miles ever saw in Matt Flynn that made him believe he was superior to Ryan Perrilloux. I've been extremely impressed with Ryan every time I've seen him play. He's a big QB who is accurate with a strong arm and can run. He's looked excellent again today.

16/20, 235 yards, 1 TD

Also, there was a pass in the first half that could've been a 70+ yard TD had he put a little more touch on the pass. I cannot wait to see what he can do next season as a full-time starter.

same deal as to why john david booty has started over mark sanchez the last couple of seasons, the coaches feel they owe it to the veteran players who have waited long enough for their chance to start even if their not as talented. its sad because we arent able to see guys like Perrilloux and Sanchez start for more than one or two seasons.

To be fair, Stewart was playing with turf-toe against a defense that's not only one of the best in the nation against the run, but also had nothing to focus their attention on other than Stewart. And he still gained 161 yards. Without him, that game would likely have been a blowout.
