Who are the top 5 SLB (4-3 defense)

Could S.Crable play SLB in a 43 defense or is he only a 34 OLB?

Thanks

Hmmm...I would say -

Dan Connor, Penn State
Tavares Gooden, Miami
Beau Bell, UNLV
Shawn Crable, Michigan
Ezra Butler, Nevada

Dan Connor can probably play all three LB spots in the 4-3, IMO.

Just some names to throw out there

-Connor (could play all 3)
-Crable (blitzing SLB, Julian Peterson)
-Phillip Wheeler (see Crable & Connor)
-Malik Jackson (true, standard SLB)
-Tavares Gooden (Tampa 2 SLB)

Bo Ruud & Spencer Larson are two slower SLBs that could still make an impact.

I love Wheeler. I think he has the versatility to play any LB spot, in any formation. I think he's one of the more underrated players in the draft.

I agree, thanks for reminding me to put that in his bracket. He's underrated because there are so many people who haven't seen ACC football and witnessed how explosive and quick he is when blitzing and filling gaps. He needs to add a bit more weight to adjust to shedding NFL blockers but he will breeze through the change in game speed.

I think you are right, although I've always considered him more of a will.

Crable is currently playing SLB for Michigan. I think he's a much better fit as a 3-4 OLB, but he could play SLB in a 4-3.
