Round 1

Ahh I did forget about Rouse coming onto the scene. I heard he was playing well. Packers are a hard team to mock for past the first round.

We have kinda fixed our needs at TE and RB. LB is still a concern because of poor coverage by Poppinga

Sick second rounders for the Bengals and Jets. I think Rivers is a great fit in Cincy and I love Crable for the Jets. Hopefully Long is big enough for the 3-4 as a DE as I know some have their doubts, and Campbell is a decent pick for Cincy that late but he just seems like he's going to be a bust. Nice value so it's tough to question, but there's just something about him...he's gotta go somewhere though I guess.

Is wierd I have that feeling about Campbell also. A lot of people do. Hah as I was making this draft I was thinking how good the Bengals draft was and they usually don't have any fans comment on mocks.

Two secondary picks in a row? Even if we lost Samuel and Wilson, we'd still have:

CB - Ellis Hobbs, Randall ***, Brandon Meriweather
FS - James Sanders (who's VERY good, for those that don't know)
SS - Rodney Harrison

Maybe some safety depth at some point would be nice and I could see the Patriots taking Jenkins but probably not two guys in a row.

23.NY Giants - Reggie Smith, DB - Oklahoma
23.New York Giants - DeJuan Tribble, CB - Boston COllege
I pretty much love this mock, even though we didnt get a OLB.

I'd prefer Rivers over Smith in Round 1, but I'm fine with Tribble in round 2. Both fit needs, so I'm not upset. =D

I just wouldn't mind seeing some new players here and there..or addressing a need for once. Its basically the same players going in the same spots in all these drafts..not that I'm saying they are bad, but it just gets repetitive.

I think Long doesn't give them anything (other than youth) that Shaun Ellis doesn't.

I'd like to see the Titans go with Jordy Nelson, he's a better possesion receiver than Hardy or Sweed for that matter and he would be better in their offense where Vince like's to throw a lot of slants and underneath routes.

Smith can easily play FS which would help us greatly.

the Giants mock is bonerific. Give us 2 playmakers in the secondary we so desperately need.

16. Arizona Cardianls - Aqib Talib, CB - Kansas
Rolle has stepped up in the past couple of weeks but they are still weak.

30. Green Bay Packers - Jack Ikeqwuonu, CB - Wisconsin

32. NE Cheatriots - forfeit

Round 2

16.Arizona Cardinals - Heath Benedict, OL - Newberry

30.Green Bay Packers - Jamar Adams, S - Michigan

Solid AZ draft. CB would be pretty strong and the competition would bring out the best in their current starters. O-line still a good area to address, but that's not very good value on Benedict in the middle of R2. He's more an R3 guy.

For GB, Ikegewuonu likely staying in school, like most UW players do. Only 4 have gone early in the past 15 years, according to one UW booster. Now, he is a 4th year junior, so he might come out. With the burglary charge, also not sure how that plays with TT. A player not listed in your first two rounds, unless I missed seeing him, is Antoine Cason. Throw him into GB's R1 and that would make this a better draft on all accounts. Cason goes in the first round, Ike stays in school and the Packers stick with a CB, wich they need for the nickel and to develop behind Woodson and Harris. Cason and Jamar Adams would be a very exciting day for my secondary and allow the team to build quality depth rather than the UDFA guys that are just there to hold roster spots.

Why would the chargers spend a first round pick on a RB?

Thats what I've heard from a couple of people. Some people are high on him and calling him a first rounder though.

Why the would the chargers spend a first round pick on a RB?

The don't really have a ton of needs. I thought about Cherilous for a little bit, because I heard about the poor play of Olivea. They will most likely lose Turner this off-season and don't have anything behind LT. Mendenhall will be a great change of pace back and insurance policy.

I do remember that. But I also remember that having 2 6'4 280-285 defensive ends in a 3-4 defense is probably not a good idea when one of the problems on the defense is how undersized the d-line is.

yea, thats Tribbles downside, but i think we need a playmaking CB. A guy who can get us some nice INT's.

Why the would the chargers spend a first round pick on a RB?

correct. They will not take a first round running back. Turner is prolly gone so that leaves a hole. First, turner has barely played, hes not leaving behind large shoes to fill. Second, Sproles can be more than capable for the amount of carries Turner has handled this year. Third, We have no picks till the second day, why would we ever spend the first on a RB. mayber later tho..

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Derrick Harvey, DE - Florida
29. San Francisco 49'ers (Indy) - Dre Moore, DL - Maryland
31. Dallas Cowboys - Chris Williams, OT - Vanderbilt

26.Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Chad Henne, QB - Michigan
28.Pittsburgh Steelers - Zack Bowman, CB - Nebraska

Worst TB draft I've seen yet. We just drafted Gaines Adams to play RDE. Greg White is playing well on the other side. We could use another DE, but a LDE who in this scheme plays the run more. Harvey is basically a poor man's Gaines Adams who we wouldn't need and who hasn't exactly impressed this year.

Henne has also disappointed and he doesn't fit the offense we run. We need accurate QBs who can manage the game, limit mistakes, occasionally take shots down the field. Henne is mistake prone and his arm would be reduced in this system. He's basically Chris Simms all over again, who outside of 5 or 6 games, failed miserably as a draft pick.

First of all vikings will select lower

13. Minnesota Vikings - Brian Brohm, QB - Louisville Vikings believe in Jackson and he is playing some good ball
Better choice:

Vernon Gholston, DE - Ohio State
Desean Jackson, WR - Cal
Reggie Smith, DB - Oklahoma
Mike Jenkins, CB - USF

13.Minnesota Vikings - DJ Hall, WR - Alabama
Could see us go with the best WR in the second..

If the Vikings keep Tavaris, they deserve what they've got coming. I hope they don't take Brohm if he's there for them so they continue how they've been. It'll be nice to shut them out again with Jackson at the helm next year, again.

Ellis is perfect in Rd1. Hills makes a lot of sense, though that glut of LB talent still on the board sure is intriguing. And, honestly, going DT in both rounds wouldn't be a bad idea. We're pretty much working with nothing inside at this point.

Good job with the Cowboys picks Jenkins and Bowman, both are probably going to be targeted and I can see it going that way, only thing that changes is our 2nd 1st rd pick, we wont go OT, we already have 2 young tackles behind adams, and we still may keep adams, I think we take DL right there or RB

few side nots...Vikings wont take a qb 1st rd...why would the pats take griffin and they just took merriweather, dont think they need 2 safeties that bad...dont think the falcons take mcfadden either, not over a qb when they have absolutely no one in place, they will let norwood get carries and get another rb later, if mcfadden were to get hurt their season would be down the drain

Hah in the past three days I've got 3-4 comments about the Vikings not taking a QB. When this mock was made on the day before the game with Detroit. Honestly Detroit makes any QB look good. Its not something to get giddy over. McFadden and Brennan or Woodson/Ryan/Brohm and a lesser RB. I'd take McFadden and Brennan. I think he is more of a sure bet than the top QBs. And your comment about McFadden getting hurt is true for any teams star players. Look at how teams passed on Adrian. McFadden doesn't have the injury history either.

Yeah, if you want to hold on to that one game, basically his rookie year before he got it together thats just fine. I mean its not like he was a project coming out, and hes coming along better quicker than he was expected to coming out. But if you want to just keep on hating everything that has to do with the Vikings no matter what the situation be my guest.
