Hawaii at 2? Give me a break look at the schedule they played. If any of them other teams in your top 9 played the schedule they did, they also would have ran the table.

You know, I completely agree with you. I really don't like having Hawaii that high and I think they will get smoked by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. With that said, I think everyone wants to argue which teams are the best and who played a soft and who played a hard schedule. I think the only true determinate that balances everyone out is wins and losses. I personally don't feel as though Hawaii should be at #2, but they are undefeated and who am I to put a 2-loss team in front of them. Even if those two losses came against the two toughest teams in the country, I still value wins and losses over schedule... Except for Kansas because I believe Hawaii would be able to dominate them. =D

If Kansas and Hawaii happened to play each other this season. I feel that whoever had the ball last would win. So your saying that Hawaii is better then Georgia, LSU, and Oklahoma? All 2 loss teams.

I'm not saying they are better, but I am saying that they deserved to be ranked higher. I think that this year with all teams looking horrible at times and great at times, Hawaii is the only team who has managed to win everyone one of their games while looking great and mediocre. My rankings aren't based off of who I think is best, but who I think deserves a shot at being the best (i.e. Hawaii deserves to be in the NC game).

Hawaii does not deserve to be in the national championship game. In my opinion either does Ohio State. But in no way can you sit there and really think Hawaii deserves a shot a the NC. They earned the BCS Bowl, but not a shot at the NC.

How about a team that played good competition week in and week out and played in an actual tough conference like LSU, Oklahoma, or Georgia?

LSU played like garbage the second half of the season and almost gave the game away to Ole Miss. Oklahoma loss to teams that it should have beat and Georgia finished third in its conference. I think all 3 teams are better than Hawaii on paper, but they all lost 2 games on the field. Yeah, they played stiffer competition, but if everyone is saying that these teams are the best in the country, then why did they lose?

Because they played stiffer competition. You answered it yourself. You dont see any of them teams playing 2 1-AA teams, and a weak conference schedule. Make Hawaii play an SEC or Big 12 schedule lets see how long they stay undefeated. Its hard when your playing tough teams week after week and not lose one. Especially when your a target like those schools.

I think they would lose a lot, but until the rules are changed, I think that if you are the only undefeated team and there are a bunch of 2 loss teams, then you should jump ahead of them no matter what your schedule is.

Okay I have to totally disagree with you there. Thats why there is such a thing called Strength of Schedule. Obviously if Hawaii played a better out of conference schedule they would have a shot at the NC, but they didnt. They played 2 1-AA schools, the worst team in the Pac-10, and UNLV who was 2-10. The combined record for Division 1 teams on Hawaii's schedule is 42 and 68. You really think they deserve a shot at the NC?

Why can't you agree to disagree? You guys have been bickering back and forth and neither of you will change their mind. That's why everyone is voting so one persons vote doesn't outweigh the other. You don't think Hawaii deserves a #2 ranking. That's great. Turtlepower thinks they do. Dude, just drop it.

No need to be an ass. It's my job as a mod to patrol this thread so that's what I'm doing. From the way I see it you started an argument, and while it has been civil, it was started because you disagreed with his opinion on a ranking. It was an uncalled for discussion, argument, or whatever against his opinion.

I'll leave it be, though. Don't mind me. Just trying to keep the peace.

i'm sorry, but i just don't see a top 10 team in hawaii. sure they've won all their games, but would a team like Florida, ASU, or WVU have to struggle to win against LaTech, USU, SJSU, Fresno, Nevada, and Washington? By going with what i've seen on the field, hawaii is definitely not one of the top 10 teams.
