Isn't taking the bus so annoying?

Buses are always late and i almost always end up getting some loud ass people in my bus. I can't believe the number of times i get people who start speaking russian loudly and frantically (i dont even live in a russian neighborhood). The worst was a few months ago, on the way to work, when these people literally started screaming like birds. They were 16 year old girls, but seriously, how ******* retarted can you get? The worst thing was these people worked at the same place i worked (i worked in an amusement park, big place and tons of departments so that explains why i didnt see them before). And then of course there were the buses on 1 particular route that would stop halfway and literally do nothing for 15 minutes. Its probably not the drivers fault, but seriously, who the hell schedules a break in the middle of a route?

Anyways, im sure im not the only one who hates taking the bus. I cant wait until i get my license/car.

I usually never take the bus. Even before my license/car I would always walk or get rides.

But honestly, I miss driving so much. I hate being a freshmen in college. Cant wait to bring up my car.

last time i rode a bus other for sports was like 7th grade. Very happy I havent gone completely broke and have managed to afford a car/insurance my entire college life. I've heard some pretty bad stories about riding the bus..

i've only rode in a city bus one time, and that was to Wrigley Field, that was an awful experience. Buses are just not for me, I live in a suburb, and have my own car. I even have my car at school with me, so there has never been a need for me to ride the bus. Plus any time i try to figure out a bus schedule i get confused and give up.

I hate busses, yet I spend about 2 hours on the bus every day, from and to school and to work, it's terrible.

- they're always late
- beacause they're always late, I'm always late
- I hate the fact bus drivers are dumb idiots who couldn't get a real job so ended up driving folks around.
- I live near two low-level schools, so every freakin' bus I take is filled to the brim with morons who have trouble remembering they need to breathe.

The last time I rode a bus to school, was in elementary school. I was one of the first to get picked up, and on the way home, I was one of the last to get dropped off.

I only ride buses to my football games now

Not in Ottawa. One of the best bus systems in North America.

Long live OC Transpo

it's really too bad public transportation gets such a bad rap. it's cheap, easy (seriously, the only people that can't figure out a bus schedule should be riding a short one), and in most big cities, convenient. if i lived in a major city, i'd be happy to take a bus, save on gas and sit back and listen to music or read during my commute. i just can't picture myself caring about the other people on the bus.

I agree. I live in Minneapolis and I take the bus most anywhere I don't need storage space (ie: buying groceries is out).

The best part is that the bus does a direct commute from my house to the downtown bars. If I'm out of the bars by 1:30 I get a free taxi home.

Every blue moon I'll take a bus from Jersey into NYC. But I prefer the train. And once I'm in NYC its all subways. I don't think I've ever been on a NYC bus.

I never understood people who took the bus in NYC. The subway is just so much more convenient and faster.

Lots of cities have lightrails, but where they take you is kinda limited (unless you live in a city with subways)

Next year at Duquesne, the Pitt metro will probably be my main form of transportation. Until then it's Chevy Trailblazer

you probably have to travel far.

I use to take the bus to class but it was only like 2-3 miles away and there were other routes that went the same way so if one was late or didn't show there'd be another one going the same way for most/part of the route.

Plus most colleges provide free bus passes.

Hell no they don't. I've been/taught at 5 colleges/universities and not a one of them gave ANYTHING for free. Discounted bus passes yes.

Any college that would give a bus pass is taken that money from somewhere else. A "transportation" fee if you will.

really? damn that sucks. I went to ASU and they provided free bus passes to students and faculty but you're right in a sense that it was probably charged somewhere else. It didn't help they raised tuition every semseter either.

Yeah its a lightrail. It made it tougher on drivers because some roads became "no left turn on green" but they would still do it without there being an arrow. They would end up running into the lightrail and everytime the lightrail won.
