JORDY NELSONZ @ 143. HOW DAREZ UU? :O

Here's my assesment of the mentioned CB's...

First off all 5 you mentioned are very close. I'd venture to say the 32 NFL teams would be all over the place with ranking those 3. It would come down to what type of CB they are looking for.

-Flowers is a technically sound cover corner. Where he does stuggle slightly is with his ball skills. I see Harris as a slightly better prospect because of his playmaking ability even though Flowers gets the slight edge in man to man coverage.

-Victor Harris, as already mentioned he has a knack for making big plays. His value in the return game also helps him. He can also play safety, so he should be viewed as a valuble commodity by alot of NFL teams.

-Chevis Jackson to me is the most complete CB of the group. He's technically sound, experienced, good size, speed, etc., his biggest attribute to me is his physical style of play and run support. He's in my eyes the best tackler of the entire CB class, and that is part of playing CB unless your name is Deion Sanders.

-Jack Ikegwuonu to me probably has the most questionable character and least mental capacity of the mentioned CB's. That's really the only reason I have him where he is. Skill wise he's as good as any of them.

-Reggie Smith I feel is being a bit overated. Don't get me wrong, he can play but he's in kind of a wierd class. What I mean by that is if you look at him as a CB he is worth one thing (below the mentioned CB's), but a team viewing him as a S (especially with the weak safety class) he is worth more...if that makes any sense.

-Jordy Nelson, to be honest I haven't seen him a whole lot. I know is numbers are great, but I have to ask who did he play and how will he fair at the combine? The NFL wants to know what can you do, and could care less about what you have done.

Aqib Talib? He completely owned him all game long, on basically any kind of route you can possibly run. He beat up Patrick Lee pretty badly...He had a decent game on Dwight Lowery...He shredded the Texas secondary, and special teams unit...He had a pretty good game against Colorado..He ripped Oklahoma State's secondary apart...He kicked Iowa State's ass..He beat Zach Bowman pretty badly...Then for the finale, killed Fresno State.

The competition factor is a non issue...he's faced tougher CB competition than any WR in the draft...and still put up far better numbers then all of them. Everyone knew he was getting the ball thrown his way 10+ times a game, and still can't stop him...lol....and 143rd is a freakin joke.

Leodis McKelvin should be a lot higher than 99th...Its probably because you havn't seen him though, and he plays for Troy so I really can't blame you...but he has been shutdown. I'd put him right up there with Mike Jenkins and Talib..if not higher.

Other than that, it looks good from a glance

Is there seriously no Ben Moffit on this list?

He doesn't do a whole lot for me. He'd be in the next 25, but as an NFL LB I see nothing all that special about him. I will say, I only saw 2 South Florida games this year (1 at a sports bar, so...), and my ranking probably show it.

Like I said, I haven't seen much of him so I can't justify a high ranking. McKelvin I've seen a few times, but when I was watching Troy I was more intersted in seeing Haugabook...

I think if you're going to add players like;

Brian Cushing
Erin Henderson
Alex Boone
Travis Beckum

then you're going to have to treat them like any underclassmen declaring and not just add them down the line somewhere. They should all be top 40 or 50 players in my opinion.

You got it slugger.

I'll start with the overrated guys for where you have them...
Matt Ryan, Antoine Cason, Sam Baker, Jon Stewart, Andre Woodson, Kentwan Balmer, Mike Oher, DeSean Jackson, Chris Ellis, Early Doucet, Demarrio Pressley, Colt Brennan, Chevis Jackson, Steve Slaton, Harry Douglas, Ray Rice, Dennis Dixon, Javon Ringer, Jacob Hester, Dorien Bryant, Craig Steltz, Darry Beckwith, Davone Bess, Jamar Adams, Tom Zbikowski, Todd Boeckman, Jerod Mayo among others...

Underrated:

Dan Connor, James Laurinaitis, Ryan Clady, Aqib Talib, James Hardy, Duke Robinson, Jack Ikegwuonu, Fred Davis, Reggie Smith, Xavier Adibi, Mario Manningham, Phil Wheeler, Earl Bennett, Peyton Hillis, Martellus Bennett, Kirk Barton, Maurice Crum, Justin King, J Leman, Tracy Porter, Trae Williams among others..

Basically the only reason you make these kinds of threads is so you can show us your graphics that you always make.

Dude, I've been a draftnik since 1989. What were you up to in 1989? I'm also a draft scout for another NFL site, so I'm not some dude who just makes graphics. I'm a guy who also makes graphics. Also if your basis for saying my list was bad is the fact it doesn't look like everyone else's...well I just don't know what to tell you.

FYI, Casserly spoke with brass from each NFL team. From that he gathered Matt Ryan is head and shoulders above the rest of the QB's and therfore the concensus #1. Brohm is firmly planted as the #2 concensus QB, and most teams are spit between Woodson and Brennan. He said Brennen is actually the #1 QB on one teams current board.

Antoine Cason will be the first CB off the board. I said it last year with Revis and I said it the year before with Tye Hill. Have you seen Cason play or do yu just assume I'm wrong because everyone else has Jenkins #1?

Sam Baker might be the first OT taken. He was hurt most of this season and wasn't 100%. I can still recall how he plays at 100%, and trust me so do NFL teams. What is it you don't like about Baker?

Jonathan Stewart, what's not to like? He's a prototypical NFL back. He's got a great combination of size, speed, and power. He has great vision, etc., etc., etc. He's a guy I see as a sleeper of sorts because when he is in a conventional offense, who knows how good he could be. IMO Oregon's offense held him back a bit. I have him 10th, let me guess you'ld have him 12th...

Kentwan Balmer was identified as the concensus #2 DT in Casserly's study.

Everyone tells me I underate Michael Oher. Kid started from day 1 as a true freshmen at Ole' Miss, he's a house, very smart, athletic, a good technician, can play OG or OT.

Watch a Virginia Tech game and all you hear is Chris Ellis.

DeSean Jackson isn't a guy I'm overly impressed with as a true WR, but he is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Just about every year a guy like him get's drafted in the top 20.

I watched nearly every LSU game this year. I'll just comment on the entire group by saying I have as good a beat on players from that team as I do any team in the country. Chevis Jackson may be the most underated and overlooked guy in this entire draft class. Steltz is never out of position.

Dorian Bryant = Steve Smith (Carolina), just wait and you'll see.

Todd Boeckman will likely be a first round pick next year so if anything I technically have him too far down the list but since I'm certain he won't enter the draft it's OK.

How can the production of Slaton, Rice, and Ringer be argued? There are question marks on them, but their prouction will keep them in the upper half of the draft class. Slaton and Rice will almost certainly return to school anyways.

Dennis Dixon...I assume you didn't see him play this year. Completely different QB than a year ago.

Devone Bess may be underated by me (or atleast too far down the list). All he does is catch everything near him. Maybe the best hands in the class.

Zbikowski is too low if anything. His upside and return abilities probably won't keep him on the board past the 3rd round. I see him in a Troy Polamalu type role in the NFL.

Underated:

Laureniatis, get's caught in traffic and can't fight off blocks. Won't be a ILB in the NFL, and won't enter the draft this year. He's nowhere near the prospect Paul Posluszny was and he went in the second round.

Dan Connor is very comparable to Posluszny who...went in the second round.

Ryan Clady, has no technique at all. He uses his size and strength to dominate much lesser opponents than he'll face in the NFL. He needs another year to work on his footwork, technique, etc. At this point he's a minimum 2 years away from being starter worthy in the NFL.

Talib is good, just not better than the CB's I have ahead of him. I gotta put some type of gap between them. This CB class is excellent when you include all the underclassmen, so it's simply "choose your flavor."

Mario Manningham would be much higher on my list if you could count on him to catch the ball every time it hits his hands and didn't have bad hands days/games.

James Hardy looks awkward to me. His size advantage looks to be much of his success at Indiana. Doesn't work that way in the NFL.

Justin King, great athlete but he's a bit lost at CB. No technique at all in his game. See him against James Hardy?

Earl Bennett, you really think he should be higher than any of the WR's I have ahead of him?

I'm tired of typing, how about you tell me why I have some of these guys under/overated. Give me something more thana list so I atleast have something to ponder.

Ryan could be the #1 QB, but there's no way he's the #4 player in the draft.

Cason could also be the #1 CB, but there's no way he's the #9 player in the draft

Baker isn't mean enough for my liking. He doesn't have that killer instinct, and he's not as good an all-around OL as Jake Long.

I like Stewart, but I don't think he's the #12 player this year.

There's no way I'd take Balmer over Sed Ellis.

Oher at 16 is too high.

I did watch VT games, and Ellis is good. Once again, I'm not saying these guys aren't good, I'm saying you have them too high.

Jackson falls under the Ted Ginn syndrome, not much you can do about that.

I don't consider Chevis Jackson good enough to go on Day 1, and Steltz is more a byproduct of playing besides guys like Dorsey and Highsmith, among others.

Highly doubt Bryant is the next Steve Smith. He averages a paltry 10.6 ypc.

Don't know if Boeckman will be a 1 next year. He's too Jekyll and Hyde for me.

Slaton is way too soft for my liking. Rice isn't a great prospect due to measurables.

Trust me I saw Dixon plenty, but I tend to like my QBs to have been good for more than one season. Call me crazy...

Zbikowski is too low???? Are you ******* kidding me? Never mind the fact that he makes Roy Williams look like Deion Sanders in coverage, I guess.

Underated:

Laurinaitis and Connor are both excellent backers.

Wait, so you put Zbikowski on a pedestal for his potential but Clady is way down? Mmmmmmmmmk

Understandable on Talib and Manningham, I guess.

Hardy has amazing potential and production, I'll give him a whirl.

King is a good man corner who got abused by Hardy and Robiskie mainly in zone.

I think Earl Bennett is vastly underrated. Excellent route runner, finds the holes in the zone, good hands.

My rankings depict how I feel about the players and the range I expect them to get drafted. Do you expect a QB to go in the top 5? I do. Same applies to Cason. cason was considered a top 15-20 prospect last year.

Baker is a technician, he doesn't need to be mean. Technique get's it done in the NFL. That's where Jake Long's downfall is, h's not a technician and uses brute force to get the job done. We'll see how that works out for him.

"There's no way I'd take Balmer over Sed Ellis." Me either, check my rankings...

Alot of people consider Oher the best OT prospect out there. What do you look for in assessing offensive linemen?

Steltz is a product of being a smart football player. Trust me, at the NFL level the guys who get it mentally get on the field first and find the most success. He won't run the best 40 or jump the highest, but he also won't let a receiver get behind him.

Barry Sanders had terrible measurables (except his 40 time).

Refer to my response about Zbikowski and re-read it. How did I put him on a pedestal? I have him ranked #121. I have Clady #43. Take away some underclassmen who return to school and he's within reach of the first round.

Hardy might be a great WR in the NFL, but nothing screams at me that makes it seem like a lock. #45 isn't all that low.

Looked like man to man coverage that was King's downfall against Hardy and Robiskie. Seem to remember him doing alot of chasing.

So you put Bennett above which WR's?

I don't see what you people are complaining about so much. Yeah, there's a bunch of players I'd personally say were either too high or too low, but the point of making draft rankings is to, you know, evaluate the prospects on your own, not just make the same big board that everyone else did.

Yes, there are plenty of cases where there is a consensus #1 at a position, but if you disagree, hey, it's not like you're just automatically wrong. I'm sure some guy ten drafts ago had Ryan Leaf in the fourth or fifth round and everyone though he was an idiot. Hell, I had DeMeco Ryans up around #7 for my final big board in the 2006 draft, people kept giving me the stupid "too small/slow" argument, and now he's one of the premier middle linebackers in the league. Give the guy a break for having a different opinion than you.

And what's up with the people who don't like the graphics? I think they're cool as hell. I think it's refreshing to see something visually appealing instead of a hundred-and-seventy-five-line wall of text. Hell, I'd use the same thing for my positional rankings and big board if darnik gave me the okay.
