Reminds me of a bigger, stronger, better version of Kellen Clemens.

Pretty good report Scott. Don't know how accurate that 5.15 40 time is, but that's being nit-picky. What round do you foresee him going in?

I'm not that sold on Chad Henne. There's something I get when watching him play that I'm not too fond of.

I don't think he has a quick release...actually pretty slow compared to other QB's..except Woodson

Look at the jaw on him in that picture, it's huge.

sounds like rex grossman to me.

Henne has a very quick release. It just looks slow at times because of his low release point and the fact that he holds onto the ball too long. I think he can be an NFL starter with the right coaching and good health. can't imagine how much it hurt to play the last 3 games with a dislocated shoulder.

For some reason I just see Jim Druckenmiller when I watch this guy. Just my opinion though.

No thanks on him. I just don't think he has what it takes. He's not quite accurate enough, and doesn't blow you away with intelligence as far as reading defenses and finding the open guy. Plus, his fundamentals are all messed up. Not quite my guy. I wouldn't put a franchise in his hands.

oh god no...having seen both of them play i can tell you grossman has 0 pocket presence, overrated arm strength and cant protect the ball to save his life.

i wouldn't mind seeing henne brought in as a replacement to grossman in chicago in round 2 or later

Pretty much nailed the scouting report Scott. Henne is going to be hit or miss at the next level. I think he needs to go to a good team, where he doesn't have to start right away, if he's going to succeed at the next level.

I'm not that big of a fan. I have him ranked as a 3-4 rounder and 9th among QBs behind the big 3, brennan, flacco, ainge, josh johnson and dixon.

It would be almost impossible for Grossman to have overrated arm strength.

have you seen him try and throw the deep ball? the thing seems like it flutters around almost like a punt...

if theres a defender within 10 yards of where the ball is coming down itll be incomplete AT BEST...

wait u serious? the one thing u can't knock grossman on is his arm hes got a cannon and it only flutters when he throws the short ball... Chad Henne is more of a career backup than a starting QB at this point, the only reason he will get picked day one is cause he started for Michigan from day one

I really am not sold that Henne will go in the 2nd/3rd round. In some respects, he reminds me of Kyle Orton, and I tend to expect to see Henne in the 4th/5th area and perhaps even the 6th depending on the dynamics of the draft. Only time will tell, though, and maybe he dispels some concerns this offseason.

Scott-

Is Henne climbing boards right now after his good game against UF?

Remember you're comparing Rex Grossman's pro career to Chad Henne's college career.

Yea some team will be stupid enough to draft him in the 2nd or 3rd round. I don't think Henne will be good at all in the NFL.

scott where did you get the 5.15 on henne, his recruit profile has him at 4.6 and i've seen other recruit sites at 4.6 as well...you can't seriously believe he got THAT much slower in school can you?

Yeah I asked that a while back. Not too many players get slower by .5 seconds from HS to college.

Scott uses a wide range of 40 times and averages them to get his initial scouting report 40 times. It will change after the combine.

nhlkdog411
01-07-2008, 10:45 AM
if he averages them it still doesn't make sense because that would mean time in the 5.5 range...its not really a big deal anyway though because he's gonna have to run at the combine so i'll let it go, i was just curious

I imagine there were a lot of times, his HS time was likely not used in this IMO.

With Michigan's S&C program, or lack thereof, nothing would surprise me.

True as much as I hate U of M, I must say you I love your sig!!!!!

I think Henne proved to me in that game vs. SEC Speed that he has what it takes to succeed at the next level. I hope he does well for himself in one of the All Star Games he particpates at. I can see a team falling in love with him. He has experience, leadership skills, he is a gamer, gritty, can make all throw, tough as nails. i like him alot.
