With the Miami clinching the first pick in the draft, I gave the privilege of making the #1 selection to Phinstd, the resident Dolphins fan of STLToday.com Rams Talk. He selected Glenn Dorsey. My choice for Miami would have been Vernon Gholston

Joe Flacco is just a horrible pick for the bucs. Especially in the first round. An OT, CB, or WR would be much better.

Just as a whole I think you have the values of a lot of players messed up

I just don't know where to begin.

Ouch, bad bad pick

Give the Cardinals Kenny Phillips, Ellis is a 3rd rounder and we have much bigger needs than DE, unless Gholston drops to us and Malcolm Jenkins and Kenny Phillips are both gone we aren't taking a DE(in which case it would be Campbell)

I figured Tampa fans might have something to say.

Otah & Chris Williams were certainly considered.

Thanks. I was real close to giving Phillips to Arizona.

I figured Ellis went a bit high, but it wouldn't surprise me if Arizona reached.

If we reach it is for a position of need like CB or FS, not DE/OLB where we have 3 guys fighting for one spot.

Desean Jackson would be the obvious Buc pick.

Yeah, he was considered too. Obvious, huh?

Ya it is pretty obvious, anyone with a bit of draft knowledge knows that Desean Jackson is the ideal first round pick for the bucs. He is a speedy wide reciever who will be able to take over for galloway when he retires, and gives the bucs a number 1 WR for the future

Like Chucky said, it is the obvious pick.

To be honest with you, my favorite part about your mock was that DeSean Jackson wasn't going in the 1st. DeSean is easily the most overrated player in the draft and your the first one I've seen leave him out of round 1. Unproductive, 165lb recievers aren't successful in the NFL.

Ellis is a 3rd rounder

No way. Ellis is a late first/early second round pick. Although I do think it would be a pretty big reach, it wouldn't be as big as you may think.

I agree that Jackson is overrated, so it wasn't a given he'd make my first round. I'm glad you like that part.

You really do dig Gholston, don't you?

We've debated this before- I've still gotta go with Chris Long, who is not as good a physical specimen as Gholston, but I have rated higher.

It's a decent pick, I'll admit.

My preference between the two changes minute by minute.

At least if the Rams are picking at #2 overall, they'll have a guaranteed crack at one of them.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Tampa Bay go for a QB if one of the top 3 were to drop to them, in this draft to me it's much easier to find a good WR in rounds 2 and 3.

wow, i doubt loadholt goes that high if he comes out this year. I love having HUGE lineman and he certainly fits that description but im not sure hes a first round talent this year.

maybe next year.

although you did nail the position with the bears, that i like

23. Tampa Bay- Joe Flacco QB Delaware

I reserve this for ONLY when it truly applies to me doing it, so:

Just remember where you saw it on Christmas. I don't think it's a stretch to think I'll get the last laugh.

If you're going to put a 4th QB there in the first round it should be Colt Brennan not Joe Flacco.

How big a stretch do you think? I think he'll go early 2nd at the very least.

I have him as a 3rd with some leeway based on how he does in workouts. But there's a ton of difference between that and a legit 1st rounder. To spend a 1st rounder on a QB who hasn't played anybody, he's got to be beyond great or you're left with dozens of cartons worth of egg on your face.

It appears I sold Joe Flacco short by 5 picks. Are you going to hold me to that?

Andre Woodson....yikes!!!
