Riddle Me This One

Okay I have an extremely intellectual question which requires deep thought. Who would win in a fight. A Grizzly Bear or a Gorilla. Now because Gorilla's are better in trees and Bears are better in water, the fight would take place in a 30 yd by 30 yd fenced in desert like terrain. It is a fight to the death. Debate on.

A grizzly would weigh almost double the gorilla assuming both were fully grown. I think it would simply overpower it's opponent.

Intelligence isn't going to help a gorilla out much if it's just him and a grizzly bear in a fenced in area. Maybe if they were put through a series of competitions, but in a straight-up fight...a grizzly would dominate.

That vid of gorillas is just play and theyre mad young. A gorilla is so much more agile and probably just as strong. Watch a vid of a gorilla defending its young. Things are crazy.

Ok, it's time to break this down...

Size: Bear by a fairly large margin
Strength: Bear, not even close
Agility: Pretty close, I guess I'll give it to the Gorilla
Fighting ability: I'll call this one a push
"Weaponry": Teeth are even, Bear has claws, however Gorilla has humanlike hands to grab with. I think claws have the edge in an animal fight. Slight edge to the Bear.

How the fight would go down: The gorilla would be in trouble. If it was a boxing match, it could stay to the outside and take advantage of its long reach, however I was under the impression that both animals would be wild and receive no martial arts/boxing training of any kind. In this case, eventually, the gorilla is going to have to come inside on the bear where it is at a serious size disadvantage. The bear, which is likely to have been standing on its two hind paws would fall down onto the gorilla and its superior strength would thoroughly dismantle it.

in this fight versus a fully grown Grizzly vs. Silverback Gorilla... i think it's got to be the Grizzly.

Grizzly: 1500 pounds 8ft tall

Gorilla: 500 pounds 5'9'' tall...

The Grizzly is 3 times heavier... and much stronger, the Gorilla's teeth are its big advantage, but i don't think it'd be enough.

That gorilla was a youngster, a full grown gorilla is bigger faster stronger. Its a tough call but Im rollin with the gorilla.

I'm not even talking about their shows. Just read what Bear Grylls did before he got his show. He was in the SAS, and left after a parachuting accident where he broke 3 vertebrae, he climbed a mountain Sir Edmund Hilary called "unclimbable" at age 22, scaled Everest at 23.
