An obvious comparison for Carlson would be Anthony Fasano. Not sure about the others just yet though. I was thinking Tony Stewart for Martin Rucker, but I could probably do better with some more time.

Rucker is a bad blocker and can stretch the seam and is not very physical. I do not see the Jason Witten comparison.

I think Rucker is a poor man's Kellen Winslow. They have similar styles, strengths, and weaknesses, but Winslow is better across the board.

I also don't see the Davis - Gates comparison.

Martin Rucker - Antonio Gates (poor man's version)
Fred Davis - Tony Schefler (rich man's version)
John Carlson - Heath Miller

For the most part those are pretty good.

I might think that Martin Rucker is like Jeremey Shockey. But the other 2 I like as well.

Davis is like a more athletic Alge Crumpler. Or even a Jeremy Shockey.

Everyone is throwing Shockey's name around but remember he's a great blocker, these young guys dont block much at the college level.

To me Fasano doesn't look like the receiver that Carlson is, but he's a better blocker. Carlson seemed more like Witten who wasn't a really strong blocker, but I don't think Carlson is quite as athletic as Witten.

I think Donald Lee (Packers) is the best comparison for Fred Davis. Similar size, similar speed, similar role, etc. Davis might be a little receiver like than Lee but I think they're pretty similar. I think Marcus Pollard (in his prime) is another good comparison.

I can see the Rucker being a poor man's Kellen Winslow Jr. I think Winslow is a little bulkier (not much though) but they both play a similar game. Winslow is a little more tenacious as a blocker also. I could see Tony Gonzalez comparisons also but I think Gonzalez is a better blocker.

I think Todd Heap is a decent comparison for Carlson. Heap is more complete but I think they have a similar build and play a similar game.

Martin Rucker - Kellen Winslow
Fred Davis - Ben Watson
John Carlson - Todd Heap

Looks like a great TE class.
