So now that the season is over who do you think was the best of the unknowns out of last years draft to have made the biggest impact this year?

I'd probably have to say Selvin Young for the Broncos kid is the next TD ( If we give him a chance)

Ed Johnson - DT - Indy. Out of PSU. Did a tremendous job for them all year.

for the Giants

TE: Michael Matthews- kid has hands of stone, but an excellent blocking TE for us.

Safety Craig Dahl- nice player, played well on special teams, and held down the fort along with 7th rounder Michael Johnson while Gibril was out.

the DT for the colts. i forget his first name but i believe his last is johnson. all he did was start every game for them

It has to be Ed Johnson in my opinion. The guy was a 16 game starter and the most consistent player on their defensive line.

Darius Walker and Pierre Thomas were undrafted, no? Those were good pickups.

with johnson, it makes you wonder how someone can fall through the entire draft and then wind up starting every game for the defending super bowls champs...

That's kind of a different situation because Gates didn't play college football...

Okay i see

how about Gates then?

Gates started 11 of 15 games he played in as a rookie [his rookie year was 2003 during the Chargers' 4-12 season] and only showed flashes of what he would become in the latter half of the season. He wasn't the impact player that he became in 2004 and after..

Gary Russell has amazing potential, Marion Barber III style if they actually let him run.

With the injuries of the Steelers.. we may see Jason Capizzi in the playoffs.

Is Gary Russell still fat? I remember watching him at Minnesota and laughing because he had a gut.

Talk of a bad attitude coming into the draft, scouts always knew the potential but were scared off cause he had the mental age of a 12 year old, making poo jokes and the like.

He had a couple issues at Penn State too that got him kicked out of school for a year, then sent home from their bowl game.

Yeah, like smoking weed. And, an alleged assault on a female student earlier in his college career.

The Chargers had a guy by the name of Jyles Tucker, an UDFA from Wake Forest, win defensive player of the week this week. 3 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery for a touchdown. He looked very athletic and flexible out there and perhaps he can make a niche for himself behind Phillips and Merriman.

First name that popped into my head was Ed Johnson who thanks to the injury of Booger Macfarland was given the opportunity to start all 16 games and was a key contributor on that highly ranked Colts defense. Selvin Young gets an honorable mention but honestly we've seen almost any RB run effectively under Mike Shanahan.

Fred Jackson was good, and so was George Wilson. Wilson might be one of the best defensive players who went undrafted.

If you remember the '07 draft coverage, Jaws was dead on with Matt Moore. It's not often you see a UDFA starting at QB.

Stephon Heyer. starting at RT for the Redskins. Jansen was hurt in week one and since then he was been very good in his replacement. I hope he starts and we trade or get rid of Jansen.

Ahmard Hall has played his entire career with the Titans and never played for Mike Shanahan so I have no idea where you got that from.
