Yeah, I'm a happy man. Although Brandon Ore is a junior he is older than the average junior and possibly might go pro. Even if he does not Williams will be big pairing up with Tyrod Taylor in the future.

No I'm referring to him pointing to his helmet with the Buckeye sticker on it and mouthing something like "that's where I'm going" or something like that. I think the Michigan sweatshirt thing was about the same kinda deal as Rico McCoy wearing a Buckeye tshirt all week in 2006, a smokescreen. He's having fun messing with someone, and I don't think it's the Bucks.

Anyone trying to do any real scouting out of a game like this is going to have a hard time. I think Pryor obviously is going to be a great college player because he's so athletic and is going to be able to run the option to perfection in college. As a thrower i was more impressed with Gabbert and Jackson and both those guys can move a little as well. Lasting impression was so many Notre Dame commits making plays. Sort of a lack of great front 7 play and the RB class didnt look very strong.

keylime_5
01-05-2008, 03:56 PM
Actually Lamaar Thomas was great at RB this game, made about 3 big runs of 20+ yards........but he's gonna be a WR in college in the mold of Teddy Ginn who runs a lot of reverses and makes a lot of plays out of the backfield, not just a route runner and pass catcher.

Lots of good DB play in that game though. I know Boubacar had a bad game, but I think he'll be a good one nonetheless. Some good LB play too - Sabino, Brown, and Bradham were great.

They said that the Buckeye commits put that sticker on Pryor's helmet when he wasn't looking. Him pointing to it is no different than him wearing a Michigan sweatshirt at check-in. He's just screwing with everyone, and he's really enjoying it. Right now, I think he's probably about 55/35/9/1 - OSU/Michigan/Oregon/Duke. He's a better fit at Michigan (Kirk Herbstreit even said so), and as much as I'd love to see him in Maize and Blue, I think he'll end up at OSU.

Problem with going to Michigan is you have Ryan Mallett there and he was the 4th best player in the country last year by Rivals. I can see the Woverines wanting Pryor but i dont think it would be wise for him to go there.

Mallett is not gonna factor into his decision. If Terrelle went to michigan then he'd start over Mallett, so I think Pryor knows that if he goes to UM he'd start right away for Rodriguez regardless in the read option that RR prefers to run as long as he gives his best. He says frequently that playing as a true freshman won't factor his decision any, but the comfort level with the school, coaches, and players are the most important factor in his decision. He's great friends with the Brew Crew and likes Tressel and has been to Ohio State plenty. Him pointing at his helmet and that sticker Posey put on it and saying "buckeyes, baby" can't be a bad sign.

Anyone think Brown has more of a Safety's body? He did look tiny out there today, but very quick. It just seems that he would be better suited as a safety, seeing as there are numerous college safeties bigger than he is at LB.

I'm pretty sure he would start over Mallett. Mallett can't run, and RR would prefer to have a guy who can do the pass/run read option out of his shotgun spread. If Mallett transfers (like it seems) and Pryor goes to Ohio State (like it seems) I think Michigan would be kinda up the creek at QB, but I'm sure either Cone or Threet could be half decent at Qb.

Mike Adams looked pretty good today. Its always fun to see how these kids play against other talented big guys.

I would like to see Pryor come to Columbus. He is very talented and I think Tressel would use him a little bit next year. He is to talented not to get PT, maybe in a Tebow type situation.

Hard for a freshman to come in and start anywhere, even Vince didnt start as a freshman, he's going to OSU anyway, right?
By the way where was Stonebruner today?

keylime_5
01-05-2008, 10:10 PM
Stoney was playing tight end which is a little out of position for him, he's more suited at slot receiver. He played behind Rudolph and Baldwin, so he didn't see the field as much as he should've, and I didn't see him get thrown to. A lot of good guys in this game didn't get that many snaps and plenty of players who I'm sure will be future studs don't always put up big stats in this game.

Hard for a freshman to come in and start anywhere, even Vince didnt start as a freshman, he's going to OSU anyway, right?

Well, Vince was a little more raw as a true freshman, and Mack Brown didnt necessarily run a shotgun spread offense until Vince was the guy at QB. Rodriguez prefers his read option now, and if he had Mallet then he'd only have one dimension at QB from a guy who is only a year more experienced than Pryor, and Pryor is a much better option for his offense (pun not intended). Even if he wouldn't start, Pryor has said that Mallett's decision is not gonna effect his own. Terrelle said his biggest factor is gonna be comfort level, and for OSU that is the main thing we have going for us right now with him, he is very down with the staff, players, and has great friendships with some of our recruits. Heck, him and Brew are like family. (i saw a funny quote on theOZone about "brewster is thicker than blood" regarding the Toney Clemons deal.)

Sorry to point out the obvious, but this is the same Michigan that started Chad Henne, another #1 QB prospect, as a true freshman. It is hard for any true freshman to start anywhere, period, though.

Sorry to point out the obvious, but this is the same Michigan that started Chad Henne, another #1 QB prospect, as a true freshman. It is hard for any true freshman to start anywhere, period, though.

Not unless you are ND, which is the only big draw there. And we all see how that works out.

But they were supposed to win 10 games. That's what Lou Holtz said, right?

Looks like UGA is in good shape for any fake FG's in the future. Walsh showed some good speed for a kicker

Tightends are pretty much nonexistant in these games with the defenses they play. Rudolph is going to be really good at ND. Keep me informed about everything Buckeye if you would.
