not a bad KC draft

Love Denver's first round pick, but not sold on Manningham in the second. With Javon's little tirade, WR becomes a bit more of a pressing need. That said, I'd rather have Beau Bell, Wheeler, or Sweed (if you are gonna go WR).

Fantastic Jets draft. Big infusion of talent in the front 7, I'd be very happy if that's how our day 1 ended up.

Very solid Saints draft although Aqib Talib might be a better second round choice. It's debatable and given our defensive needs at both LB and CB, either Connor or Talib would be good there.

The second round pick makes up for the terrible first round pick.

wow Calais falling all the way down to round 2.Dont think that'll happen. But good Oakland draft nonetheless.

Solid first rounder but Limas Sweed is not the kind of receiver the Buccaneers need. The Bucs need a Caldwell/Douglas type.

Ye man, i didnt really wanna give the Bucs Sweed...but i thought it was good value at that point.

EDIT: I changed the Bucs pick to Caldwell...i thought he was off the board allready, but i must have just forgot 'bout him.

I hate first Dolphin pick, but love the first second round pick. Id be more satisfied with Dorsey or Gholston at #1

3. Oakland Raiders - Glenn Dorsey
4. Kansas City Chiefs - Malcom Jenkins
5. Atlanta Falcons - Darren McFadden

i wonder if, in this situation, kansas city would be motivated to move up to get jake long?
i prefer gholston to the rams otherwise. i'm assuming pace, barron, gorin and steussie return next year and that they could pick up an ot to develope in round 2 or 3. meanwhile, the rams have no pass rush if they don't blitz.

34. St. Louis Rams - Earl Bennett
35. Oakland Raiders - Calais Campbell
36. Kansas City Chiefs - Phil Loadholt

if jake long was taken in the 1st, i would think campbell would be the choice here.
if gholston was taken in round 1, loadholt would be the choice in 2 in this situation.

JT Jag
01-06-2008, 07:14 PM
Horrible Jags draft. The Jags won't pick a wide-out in the first round, and they won't pick a linebacker in the first day for the next 5 years.

DiG

unless merling blows away the combine/pro day then thats way too high for him. But if he does well then that pick is ok. In round 2 id rather have trae williams.

because Jakey is not on crack...

Jakey San, I love the giants picks. It's pure sex.

Really couldn't ask for a better jet's draft. I've seen a ton of gholston and pray that he is around for our pick come april. Also, i havn't seen much of balmer, but if everything about him is correct he would be a big improvement and definately help our run d. That makes our defense a NT away from being pretty special.

12. Denver Broncos - Kenny Phillips

Just what the doctor ordered...

44. Denver Broncos - Mario Manningham

Ugh. Inconsistency and drops... just what we need from our #2 WR. No thanks. Plenty of the later selections would be nice fits here: Hills, Adibi, Okam, Bell and Butler to name a few.

Given the trouble so many receivers have transitioning to the NFL, I suspect we'll be looking for WR help in FA (Hackett, perhaps?).

Those Saints' picks are damned sexy. Mmm.

thebow305
01-06-2008, 09:36 PM
pretty solid phins draft. ... id rather us upgrade the D a little more than that, but as long as we get some help there in the thrid and fourth rounds, i would love those upgrades to the O.

01-07-2008, 01:24 AM
Can't actually complain about either of the two niners picks, because I like both groves and brennan, but i think in terms of value, SF would go with Calais Campbell and Mario Manningham if that draft played out.

lost33cause
01-07-2008, 05:50 AM
Horrible Bengals draft. You didn't draft 2 of our biggest needs in either of round 1 or round 2. You have us taking an OT in round 2 when its not even a need or a want. We have Willie Anderson and Stacey Andrews who will both be here next year, we will resign Andrews. I don't think Keith Rivers is any upgrade over the LB we have playing the weak side now so that pick is ridiculous especailly when Sedrick Ellis is availible.

Patriots16-0
01-07-2008, 02:30 PM
Why did you gave 2 LBs to the Pats? Give us a CB instead of Ezra Butler!!!

Young Legend
01-07-2008, 03:00 PM
much rather get Moore then Calais..Oakland needs serius help at DT..sapp is gone G.Warren has a 15 % chance of coming back cause his contract..Kelly is a FA..and T.Sands well he is horrible.

Dorsey and Dre Moore would be insane togther

hate the miami draft personally but to each their own :)

SeanTaylorRIP
01-07-2008, 05:02 PM
In your situation I'd take Erin Henderson in the first and Lawrence Jackson in the 2nd for the Skins, that'd be a dream draft.

BeerBaron

id take that as a good bears draft. im a bigger fan of otah than clady personally but either would work out well i feel.

Good Ravens & Texans picks.

The OUTLAW
01-08-2008, 12:11 PM
Chris Ellis is not a good pick for the Browns. They need help on the defensive line and Ellis would be a linebacker in their scheme.

Cashmoney
01-08-2008, 12:53 PM
We really dont need DE as day one unless both odom and laboy bolt in FA. We need a DT and TE as well as WR. You could probably also go with a corner.

42. New Orleans Saints - Dan Connor

Great Saints draft. However, we pick #11 in the 2nd round.

energizerbunny
01-08-2008, 06:15 PM
I don't think the Packers need a LB.... Poppinga, Hawk and Barnett are one of the top young backing cores in the league.

The OUTLAW
01-13-2008, 07:52 PM
Chris Ellis is not a particularly good pick for the Browns. He'd be a linebacker in their 3/4 and while that could come in handy the more pressing need is any of the defensive line positions.

DiG
01-13-2008, 07:54 PM
i like the skins draft as long as merling impresses with his combine/pro day.

also i would prefer ike over thomas but im ok with either in rd 2.

30. San Francisco 49ers - Quentin Groves

Good Pick, other Options would be Frank Okam or Chris Williams.

39. San Francisco 49ers - Colt Brennan

Bad pick, this is a huge reach for Brennan, comes from a similar system Alex Smith came from, this would be a wasted pick IMO. Better option would be Frank Okam or Mario Manningham.
