Now that the dust has settled a bit I figured it was a good time to put another mock out there. I started writing comments but got lazy, so I'll respond to posters questions/comments instead. Enjoy!

The Cheaters thing is great.

For the Titans, there are WR's I like better than manningham, but can't complain much.

Bennett sounds like a nice 2nd round TE.

Don't like that DE in the 3rd....now if it was DE Wallace Gillberry in the 3rd, I'd jump for joy :D

I cried over the first round pick. No way we pass up Campbell.

No way we take Thomas instead of Caldwell.

JD Booty. Eww. If we're gonna draft a QB it won't be in the 3rd round anyway. Give us Charles Godfrey or Trae Williams, since we actually need a CB.

For the Packers:

The homer in me would rather have Ikegwuonu over Talib since I think he's better, but still a good pick and right call on the position. That's just a matter of personal player rankings.

Second pick is decent, Johnson would likely fit well as a speedy change of pace back. I feel the Packers need an athletic linebacker that would be able to stick with tight ends and backs coming out of the backfield, and with Adibi and Mayo available I might like that pick a little more. I'm still satisfied with the Johnson pick though.

Third round pick is solid. We can use another receiving tight end and Rucker would be just that. I don't know much about his blocking ability, but hopefully it's an upgrade over Donald Lee's.

Overall, good mock for the Packers.

Jack Ike to the Ravens in the 2nd is a huge steal. I don't think he'll fall that far based off talent but his "character concerns" could cause him to drop.

A few things.

I HATE it when people say "no way" in regards to most anything in the draft (with the exception of the guy that thinks Jordyz Nelzonszazzz will be the first receiver drafted). Could the Bucs go with Campbell? Sure. But they have a weak spot at left tackle, and just drafted a DE in the top 5 last year. Not to mention that they stock on Oher is higher than Campbell now IMO.

Yeah..there's "no way" the Bucs would take a better, higher ranked, and much more talented player than Andre Caldwell at the exact same position. No way at all.

I will never understand the "we might take a player in this round but not that round". Are you seriously that ******* arrogant to assume that you know what ROUND your team will draft a certain position? Gimme a break. Booty seems like the type of player that Gruden would like, is their chance to address a QB (value makes less sense in the 2nd round) and would provide COMPETITION for Luke McCown (since it's probably not a good idea to annoit a guy who has started a handful of games your QB of the future).

I give your comments an F.

I can't see us picking a safety in the first round. Especially with our supposed off season commitment to the offense. Doucet in the second is fine. Flacco in the third is perfect, think we'll go offensive line sooner than that though.

derza222

Jets mock is pretty good, the Gholston pick is a really good pick and the Schuening pick is solid as well. Hardy pick is a nice one and more realistic if we get rid of Coles this offseason. I could see it happening, but knowing how much help we need on the DL it's tough to see a nice DE fit in Balmer going a pick behind us, I personally think he's a better pick but I can see why you'd give us Hardy there so I can't say it's a bad selection.

Bengals draft pretty much looks perfect. Sed Ellis is a pretty popular pick in mocks but it makes a lot of sense. Erin Henderson in the second is a great pick and Jason Jones is a very good pick as well. I think positionally it's realistic and the players they'd take are realistic as well.

Well part of it was due to the top 3 quarterbacks and clady/long all being gone.

Angelo also said that they felt like they still had an elite defense but were let down by injuries and the safety position, so I could definately see them going with Phillips if that scenario fell down.

2) St. Louis Rams- Chris Long, Defensive End, Virginia

Great pick.

34) St. Louis Rams- Leodis McKelvin, Cornerback, Troy State

...okay? Value is solid IMO but the Rams have spent two Day One picks on corners the last two years. Methinks this is going to the well a bit too much. Plus, it's hard to really get behind this one with Chris Williams still on the board and a big need at OT.

65) St. Louis Rams- Oniel Cousins, Offensive Tackle, UTEP

See above.
You need three good corners to have a solid defense in the NFL, not to mention that a 1st day pick is neither a sure thing, nor much of an investment. Plus I think the value is greater on McKelvin.

I really doubt Mario Manningham sneaks into the first round at all. He just doesn't possess #1 WR ability. If the Titans were in the position that they got put in they would probably go with Calais Campbell. He just doesn't warrant falling all the way to #28. Him on the same line with KVB and Haynesworth

Ouch. This draft looks pretty good for all four NFC North teams. I'd really rather not see DeSean Jackson in Minnesota. The three defensive players for GB, Chicago and Detroit all solid picks for weak areas.

1. Kenny Smith S - Miami
2. Early Doucet WR - LSU
3. Joe Flacco QB - Deleware
3. Anthony Collins OT - Kansas

All I can say is wow man. I'm jawdropped at this mock you've made. First question I have is why now you've moved away from a top rnd O-Lineman? I'm just curious.

I can definatelly see Angelo going FA with at least 1 Lineman position.
Secondly since I'm not seeing a RB in any of these rnds are you factoring we go FA for RB also? If so who?

I think Ward or Turner would make a great addition to the team personally.

Nice mock by the way. I would personally suppliment an O-Lineman or RB in the 2nd but if you're figuring Berrian will leave then this makes a lot of sense.

Better than Archuleta is not a compliment by any means. Thats like saying Justin Gage is better than Bobby Wade.

I'd love to get Rey... Maualuga and Sims? Crazy. We desperately need CB help, so I like the 2nd round pick as well.

But... SS in round 3? Why? Bullocks will start next year and Blue (if we keep him) is more than an adequate backup. I'd rather have a pure pass-rushing DE (Edwards should be gone in the offseason), a young OLinemen or a SLB with our 3rd round pick.

I still give it a B.

I love the Giants draft beyond all words.

Of course, I'm a huge Rivers fan myself. I'd love to get him as that much needed play maker in our linebacker corps. Though, Gerris Wilkinson has come on as of late. Personally what I'd like to see the Giants do is move Kiwi back to DE and stand him up on 3rd Downs to rush the quarterback. Make Wilkinson the SAM on 1st and 2nd down, and in our nickel/dime formations on defense. He's easily our best cover LB right now. Mean while, keep Pierce in the middle on anything that's not considered a passing down - he just can't cover effectively, but he's still a great leader and run stopper. Finally, make Rivers our starting WILL.

2nd Round was quite awesome too. I honestly feel DeCloud is one of the more underrated players in this years draft. Cut James 'I Can't Cover' Butler, and let DeCloud and Michael Johnson fight for the starting SS spot next year. That way we can keep Gibril Wilson at free safety, which is where he's drastically improved over the course of the year, since he's not forced to cover the TE as frequently.

Finally, the 3rd Round (despite what Scottyboy said), I feel like Trae Williams would be an awesome steal. Brings in a player I feel like can contribute immediately for us. We have a superb 'coach on the field' in Sam Madison at DB who I think would really help Trae progress. While Corey Webster has stepped up his game recently, I certainly wouldn't rely on that for the coming years ahead. If Webster can play well against Dallas, and hopefully beyond that, I could see this need dropping a bit - but assuming he does not I think this is an awesome pick.

Aaron Ross, Sam Madison, Kevin Dockery,Trae Williams, and Corey Webster is superb combination if you ask me.

Overall, I not only love the Giants draft, but your mock in general, BF51. You're one of the few people that seems to realize that a mock is more about what you think will happen, not what you feel should happen.

Well done sir, well done.

I agree, and I really like the Richardson pick in the third, I think he has the makings of a very fine RT in the NFL.

haha I completely forgot about our extra 3rd. Yeah I was going to say maybe use our pick on a T but we already got one. I don't know about Henne, but it's the 3rd round anything could happen.

One of the better Patriots mocks I've seen yet.

Yeah my comments sucked but that's because I was crying over your terrible mock. I would've responded thoughtfully to this post explaining why the picks suck but all you care about is the way I said things so you can enjoy your lousy Bucs mock.

Apparently you had to sacrifice the Buccaneers to create an incredible mock for everyone else.

Do it again.

what's your reasoning for giving the panthers a QB in the first?

Delhomme injury prone and not the best u can have, Carr = ****, Testaverde is retiring and Matt Moore? i dont think he is the answer

For the Giants, I can't complain with Keith Rivers in the first. I personally feel that we have bigger needs at OT, SS, CB, and WR, but Wilkinson and Mitchell are very inconsistant (9/10 games they are worthless). Rivers will be great in the NFL.

For the second round, I guess it is all about player rankings. I feel DeCoud is not that good of a prospect and don't see much of an upgrade from James Butler to him. I would prefer addressing the o-line and drafting either Tony Hills or Anthony Collins. I think that even though Diehl has played admirably as a LT, our o-line will be much more productive with him back at guard. Plus, we are paper-thin on our offensive line.

In the third, I like Trae Williams, but I think Patrick Lee is a stud in the making. I wouldn't mind either one of them, but if I had to choose, it would be Lee in a heartbeat.

Overall, I always like your mocks and even if you don't always get the Giants picks that I want/prefer, you are at least knowledgeable about where our problems are.

Also, I love the Scott Wright quote in your sig. =D

Jake Delhomme is a product of staring down Steve Smith, has always been massively overrated, and it's pretty clear the coaching staff brought in David Carr because they at least wanted better (and younger) competition. Not to mention that he's had injury problems.

Now, if you actually think that Matt Moore is the answer, I've got no further discussion for you. The level of homerism would be far too much to overcome.

You need three good corners to have a solid defense in the NFL, not to mention that a 1st day pick is neither a sure thing, nor much of an investment. Plus I think the value is greater on McKelvin.

Right, but we have Tye Hill, (Round 1, 2006) Fakhir Brown, Ron Bartell (2005, Round 2) and Jon Wade (Round 3, 2007)

Seems like pretty adequate depth to me. Brown and Hill are good as a starting duo, Wade is super-fast and developing, and Bartell filled in and did a good job in place of BOTH starters at some point this season.

Chris Williams is just too tempting to pass up.

Give us Jake Long in round 1 (us being the Falcons) and Flacco in round 3 and I'd be a lot happier.

Malcolm Jenkins in rd 1, and then in rd 2 give us any of....

Erin Henderson
Lawrence Jackson
Early Doucet
Adarius Bowman
Ali Highsmith

You're totally out to lunch if you don't think it's HIGHLY likely that the Ravens will take a QB in the 1st round. You may not like it, but I'm more confident that is going to happen than almost anything else.

Love the jets' draft. We get a key cog in our 34 defense with gholston, one of my favorite OGs in the draft and finally someone above 6' who can be a threat in the red zone (jmac you dont count becuase you can't catch). Like it was mentioned earlier I think if balmer was still there (and he weights over 290) he would be a great fit for our dline, but i would like hardy as well.

I like Maualuga and porter for the lions, but Rey is staying in school. Dont know much about the safety in the 3rd but it isnt a position of need. We have Gerald Alexander, and Daniel Bullocks will be back.

who cares if he's overrated he's at least a starting calibre quarterback in this league and that's all that matters. you raise the point of the coaching staff bringing in competition and how did delhomme respond to it? 8 TD's to 1 interception through the 3 games he played. Now obviously the injury problems are valid as noone knows how he will come back from the tommy john surgery but by all accounts he is ahead of schedule in his return and will begin throwing in february and has said he will be back by camp.

as for matt moore not being the answer i can only assume you have not watched him (understandable of course seeing as we're a **** team to watch). As a starter he has excelled against three great defenses that made the playoffs (granted the bucs did rest starters) and has shown great pocket presence and for an UDFA good decisionmaking and most importantly he has built a solid rapport quickly with Steve Smith (who loves him btw). I'm not saying he's going to be an elite QB but he is at least at this stage a viable backup to Jake, and in the future could be the starter.

another think to note about a first round QB for the panthers is that it is at least a three year commitment and this is time that the panthers and John Fox just do not have. In all probability Fox is going to be in the hot seat next season and if the panthers flounder at 7-9/8-8 then you can make a sure bet that he is going to be fired, hell the only reason in my mind that he is staying this year is that it would cost Richardson too much money. So the panthers need to win now and a first round QB buried under Jake and Moore in the depth chart is just not going to help the team win now. and then when you factor in Fox's history and philosophy of not drafting QB's you realise the probability of the panthers taking one is low

Due to a few miscalculations on people declaring and a few changes at the top I decided to redo the mock. I think the subsequent picks are clarified as well but if you notice anything please let me know.

Comments as always, yada yada....
