Nicks is no longer a 2nd rounder. He got banned from his Pro Day. I see him going in the 3rd or 4th.

Depends on the Pro Day reason. In any case I don't want him starting at right tackle for any team his rookie year.

As far as your offensive line is concerned, I would be worried. Datish has shown nothing to show he should be a starter, and Clabo is getting to be overrated on here. Nicks is more of a guard, and I still don't see us drafting two offensive lineman in the top two rounds this year.

You're right, I'm going on what I saw at OSU for Datish, it's not anything he's proven. As far as Clabo goes, he was our best offensive linemen last year and the year before, he's far from overrated, he's vastly underrated, and just now starting to get the rating that he deserves. Can play 3 positions on the OL extremely well.

Nicks isn't going in the 2nd round anymore, he'll end up in the 4th round I'm betting. He may not even be looked at by the Falcons because he has some concerns with character because he's gotten mixed up in some trouble, no one has reported exactly what, but still trouble and it will push him down draft boards in today's NFL. If you think he's a guard that's fine, but just watch the guy for a little bit and you'll see he can play RT easily, he may even be able to play LT if he can work on his footwork and stay focused. Super long arms, massive body, but carries his enormous weight well and can still move. If he gets his head on straight, he may be the best lineman from this draft. (A Long shot, I know, but his physical attributes are 2nd to none)

As far as McClure being praised, that's great, the reason he's praised is because of his ability to lead the line and make the calls, he's a vet and he'll be good at that, he'll get praise from a ZBS coach because that's where he belongs, he got praise from a college coach because he hadn't had a C that was that good with the protections etc, but when it comes to blocking someone he's awful. I really like McClure and he was a strong point in the ZBS but now we have to move on. I LOVE what I saw in Datish at OSU, he plays absolutely NASTY and gets into the 2nd level constantly. He was my 2nd favorite C in last year's draft and there was no reason for him to slip to the 6th round, we really got a gift. Only thing that sucks is his injury really set him back. Lets hope he bounces back this year and proves in camp he's ready to take over.

Oh, and Weiner of course would still be a starting Tackle for us...Right or Left not sure yet, they may want to let Jake play on the Right to get warmed up to the NFL, then again they may throw him in there and let him compete. But Nicks wouldn't be starting, he'd be waiting in the wings.

Kalimba Edwards was let go by the Lions today. I think he would be a good backup to John Abraham, but I am not sure if we would bring him in seeing how he struggles against the run.

He'd be a situational pass rusher...just depends on the $$$ we'd have to put into him. There aren't a lot of great pass rush specialists coming out this year...well...compared to other years...so if we could get him on the cheap I'm all for DL depth
