Ok so in trying to figure out a bit more what I'd like to do in free agency, I made a list of all of the prospects that I would be happy with in our first 90 picks and where.

Please keep in mind that the ranking next to the player is where I'd like to see the Bears consider them. Therefore 2nd round = 44th pick. I'm not taking trades into account as that is far too speculative, and I'm not ranking their value to every team (ie: Felix Jones won't fall to the 2nd round, but I would not want the Bears to even consider him with the 14th pick).

Got it? Good. Post your own, and I'll sticky this so we can update them and have them around for draft time.

Here's mine: As you can see, I would prefer we not even draft a defensive lineman, linebacker, tight end, or cornerback on the 1st day. I would consider a defensive tackle, but it would have to be great value.

1) Kenny Phillips (1st round)
2) Dajuan Morgan (2nd round)
3) Reggie Smith (2nd round)

Interesting board.. I agree with a lot of it actually.. I will write mine up later.

As for Branden Albert I would take him with our first round pick.. I just recently saw video of Mayock breaking him down and am very impressed. He could easily be a RT in the NFL and I think he could play LT as well. Check out this video.

interesting idea. ill post mine up a little later but ill give you some critique of yours here for now:

tackle: no major complaints

guard: no major complaints

safety: i dont think i would touch steltz before our late third. he just seems to be...an awkward fit for our defense..otherwise alright

runningback: no major complaints

wide receiver: i don't think i would take a WR in the first round unless we traded down. since thats not the case, i wouldn't put a first round grade on kelly for us....and i would prefer devin thomas to everyone else in round 2

quarterback: i rather badly dislike matt ryan and don't want anything to do with him and hope to jeebus that the falcons or ravens take the possibility of drafting him away from us. and i wouldn't do brohm at 14...that would take a trade down. the rest is alright though i don't think i would want booty on there...guy couldn't stay healthy through college seasons

like i said, ill get mine up soon

I actually considered him in the late 3rd.

I think this is a very good breakdown. I do think Albert, Cherilous, and maybe Nicks could be first round considerations for the Bears ahead of Williams if Otah/Clady are gone. If this scenario unfolds you might see them trade down in the round to grab one of these guys.

I also think Matt Forte should be a consideration in the third round and maybe the 2nd round. According to a report I recently read, the Bears have shown tremendous interest in Forte during the post season. I think Forte, Ray Rice or Kevin Smith would be a great pick for the Bears in the second or thrid round.

At WR, I do think Adrian Arrington from Michigan and Jerome Simpson from Coastal Carolina could attract interest from the Bears if they are there in round 3.

Lastly, I do agree that offense and safety should be the focus in the early part of the draft but don't be surprised if they take a DT early if they find good value. Trevor Laws might be a good compliment to Tommie Harris if he is around in the 3rd.

heres mine finally:

OT-
1st - Jake Long
1st - Ryan Clady
1st - Jeff Otah
1st - Chris Williams
1st - Gosder Cherilus (barely)
2nd - Sam Baker
2nd - Carl Nicks
2nd - Anthony Collins (early)
3rd - Heath Benedict (early)
3rd - Tony Hills (late)
3rd - Barry Richardson (late)

OG-
1st - Branden Albert (would take a lot of chaos for it to be conceivable though)
2nd - Chilo Rachal
3rd - Roy Schuening (early)
3rd - Eric Young (late)
3rd - Drew Radovich (late)

RB-
1st - Darren MacFadden (if hes at 14 then the potential outweighs the risk)
1st - Jonathan Stewart
1st - Rashard Mendenhall
2nd - Jamal Charles
2nd - Felix Jones
2nd - Chris Johnson
2nd - Ray Rice
3rd - Matt Forte (early)
3rd - Kevin Smith (early)
3rd - Tashard Choice (late)

WR-
1st - Desean Jackson (would take some chaos to be our best pick)
1st - Malcolm Kelly (barely)
2nd - Devin Thomas (could easily be first)
2nd - Mario Manningham
2nd - Early Doucet
2nd - James Hardy
3rd - Adarius Bowman (early)
3rd - Earl Bennett (early)
3rd - Andre Caldwell (early)
3rd - Lavelle Hawkins (late)
3rd - Limas Sweed (late)
3rd - Donnie Avery (late)
4th - Jerome Simpson
4th - Harry Douglas
4th - Jordy Nelson
4th - Keenan Burton
4th - Adrian Arrington (?-explanation later)

QB-
1st - Matt Ryan (i would hate it though)
1st - Brian Brohm (i would hate it though)
2nd - Joe Flacco
2nd - Andre Woodson
3rd - Chad Henne (could be 2nd...i wouldnt like it though)
3rd - Josh Johnson (late)
3rd - Colt Brennan (late, maybe a stretch still)
4th - JD Booty
4th - Erik Ainge

i honestly don't know enough about S and DT just yet to make guesses. And also, obviously, the order i have players is subject to change as the draft gets closer, though the rounds will likely stay about the same

and about arrington. something about him when ive seen him play strikes my fancy. i just can't quite place it but i moved him up a little for it.

I actually wouldn't be suprised if we took Cherilus at #14, and honestly I wouldn't hate it. I'd prefer we'd trade down a bit, but if Angelo is looking for a great RT, you really can't get any better or safer than Cherilus.

That would of course require us to draft a LT next year, but we'll probably end up with a need at tackle next year regardless.

It really comes down to how comfortable they are with either Otah or Williams at LT. But I could see it happening.

I hope not...Cherilus is the 49ers pick!

I went to the Doak Walker presentation last week and met Benson. Made me want to come say, "Hey" to yall. He seemed pretty cool, but he is smaller than I thought.

I am kinda surprised, looking at yall's forum. I thought Quarterback would be your most pressing need, bar none. I admit I dont see as many Bear games as you guys do. But the perception of the bears, where I am at anyway, is that your quarterback is the only thing holding yall back? I guess this is just the national media???? What gives???

That was the perception last year, this year has exposed that we are a team with many flaws.

You got a qb in mind that could change it though, neither do I.

Think about this.

What if we draft one and pick up one? starks is out of the question now with a 7 mil transition tag. But, i'm sure there'll be a few cuts in the near future.

I'd be most happy with FA'ing a LT but drafting a RT. move tait to right. let the draftee stew. i mean, i'd be comfortable with Otah/Cherilus at RT. If Clady does happen to fall into our lap. I wouldn't hesitate for one second. It'd be pow! done!

I think JA doesn't care. But, boston college and linemen used together might spook him. much to my dismay. for boston, for boston, we sing our proud refrain.

well, find some FA OTs then. I think even before starks and andrews were out of the mix, the market was real weak. now....its bare
