Hey guys, this is my very first mock draft. I enjoy doing these and viewing all your guys' mocks, and def. have respect to all of you have attempt them, cuz they are really hard. The draft was attempted based on needs and value of selection. All your opinions are appreciated.

1. Miami Dolphins...... Needs: DT, ILB, OT
Pick: Chris Long, UVA, DE/OLB
Long may very well follow in the footsteps of his dad, and may even have more potential. Long is the typical Parcells guy, and someone with heart and dedication is needed on a 1-15 Dolphins team.

2. St. Louis........Needs: DE, OL, WR
Pick: Vernon Gholston, OSU, DE/OLB
St. Louis needs a better pass rush in order to compete with the offense of the Seahawks and the up and coming Cardinals. Gholston is a freak of nature who will provide St. Louis with a gifted athlete, and will also team with last year's no.1 Adam Carriker for a young, talented defensive line.

3.* Atlanta Falcons.....Needs: QB, OT, RB
Pick: Darren McFadden, ARK, RB
Atlanta is very lucky that two of their biggest needs in the draft QB and WR are ridiculously deep in this draft class. Falcons nab the #1 consensus player and the face of their franchise, while grab a QB the caliber of Chad Henne, Andre Woodson, or Joe Flacco in the second round.

4. *Oakland Raider....Needs: DT, OT, RB
Pick: Glenn Dorsey, LSU, DT
Raider fans are sad that McFadden went one spot ahead of them but they grab one of the best defensive tackle prospects in the last few years. Dorsey is a freak for his position and Al Davis will view this guy as a stud.

5. *Kansas City.....Needs: OL, CB, WR
Pick: Jake Long, MICH, OT
Easiest pick to project. Jake Long takes over an aging offensive line and will provide protection for whoever their quarterback of the future (won't be Croyle) for the next 10 years. He has a mean streak and a passion that Herm Edwards will appreciate.

6. NYJ......Needs: NT, OLB, OL
Pick: Sedrick Ellis, USC, DT
The Jets go with the best player available, although he doesnt necessarily fit their scheme. Ellis impressed at the senior bowl, and could even be the #1 overall pick. I could really see the Jets trading this pick because their top targets (Chris Long,Darren McFadden, Jake Long) are all long gone.

7. New England..... Needs: LB, CB, OT
Pick: Desean Jackson, CAL, WR/PR
The surprise pick of the draft. Jackson is another weapon for the Patriots, who can use his speed and athleticism on special teams until he grows into a true wide receiver. If they dont like anyone hear, I can really see them trading this pick, and targeting a corner like McKelvin, Aquib Talib, or Cromartie later. They will not select Jenkins or Clady in this spot.

8. Baltimore......Needs: QB, CB, DL
Pick: Matt Ryan, BC,QB
Ryan is the perfect pick in this situation. The consensus #1 quarterback will have a year to learn under McNair/Boller, and to take over the rains in two years.

9. Cincinnati.....Needs: DT, OLB, DE
Pick: Keith Rivers, USC, ILB
Cincinnati desperately needs a play maker on the defensive side of the ball, and Rivers provides them an LB that can do it all. They pick him here because LB prospects drop off at this point. He will be an instant starter, and Defensive Rookie of the Year.

10. New Orleans.......Needs: CB, MLB, DT
Pick: Leodis McKelvin, TROY, CB
With no other LBs and DTs worthy of a pick in this spot, the Saints take a gamble on this CB who has loads of potential. He is a boom or bust player, but has all of the intangibles. The Saints desperately need a lockdown corner in their defense, and help allow their high octane offense to stay on the field.

11. Buffalo.......Needs: CB, MLB, DT
Pick: Mike Jenkins, USF, CB
The Bills really need an offensive weapon, but their are no WRs to pick here this early. Jenkins is selected to replace Nate Clements and will provide a very solid corner on defense to help defend New England the next few years.

12. Denver......Needs: DT, S, OT
Pick: Kenny Phillips, The U, S
Phillips is also a boom or bust player, but with recent success by Miami safeties, he projects to have a very solid career. John Lynch is near retirement and Phillips will provide a very good replacement in the next year or two.

13. Carolina....Needs: OT, S, QB
Pick: Ryan Clady, Boise ST., OT
Panthers see that QB depth in this draft is a real asset when deciding on this pick. Passing on Brohm, Carolina picks Clady because he provides the biggest need. Two of their starters on their OL are free agents, and he provides security and has the potential to be a 10 year tackle.

14. Chicago..... Needs: QB, OT, OG
Pick: Brian Brohm, UL, QB
This team really isnt as bad as their record dictates. They are very solid across the board, except QB. Brohm will develop into a solid QB who will help lead them into the playoffs the next few years.

15. Detroit..... Needs: CB, OT, TE
Pick: Jeff Otah, Pitt, OT
Jon Kitna got destroyed every single time I watched them play. Otah provides solid lineman depth to a team that desperately needs young playmakers on their OL.

16. Arizona.....Needs: CB, DE, RB
Pick: Jonathon Stewart, Oregon, RB
Stewart will first act as the perfect compliment to Edgirren James, and eventually take over for him. He is very much like James in his game, using power and speed to roll over his defenders.

17. Minnesota.... Needs: WR, DE, S
Pick: Malcolm Kelly, OU, WR
Kelly provides a playmaker that the Vikings really need. Kelly has been a solid contributer to the Sooners and gives them a great young receiver. Tavaris Jackson will use Petersons ability and the playaction pass to perfection in the future, and Kelly will be a productive WR.

18. Houston..... Needs: S, CB, OT
Pick: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, TCU, CB
I believe DRC has jumped into the 3rd cornerback slot, and really impressed scouts at the senior bowl. Some believe him to be a clone of his cousin, and if thats the case, the Texans get a steal and it helps their young defense to defend the Colts in the future.

19. Philadelphia....... Needs: CB, WR, OL
Pick: Mario Manningham, UM, WR
Manningham provides the vertical passing attack that the west coast offense needs in Philadelphia. Manningham instantly becomes their #2 receiver in this offense. If McNabb can be healthy and accurate, Mario has the chance to eventually be an all-pro.

20. Tampa Bay...... Needs: DT, WR, CB
Pick: Limas Sweed, Texas, WR
After failing to get Calvin Johnson last year, the Bucs get a playmaker in Sweed that provides a tall target to Jeff Garcia. Sweed may have been higher if he wasnt hurt this last year.

21. Washington.......Needs: DE, WR, DB
Pick: Derrick Harvey, UF, DE
Harvey is a project, but has always shown flashes of his athleticism, such as in the national title game against OSU two years ago. Harvey provides speed to an aging defensive line and gives them depth.

22. Dallas....... Needs: CB,WR, RB
Pick: Felix Jones, ARK, RB
This pick makes so much sense in the fact that Jerry Jones is an Arkansas alum. He couldnt get the first ARK stud, so he gets the steady, bulky, and powerful Jones who may replace Marion Barber if he decides to not eventually sign with the Cowboys.

23. Pittsburgh...... Needs: OG, OT, DB
Pick: Brandon Albert, UVA, OG
Albert is the best guard prospect in this draft and Allan Faneca doesnt look like he will be resigning. He will come in and be an instant starter, and will develop to be a solid offensive lineman, just like Ben Grubbs a few years ago.

24. Tennessee...... Needs: WR, DL, TE
Pick: Calais Campbell, The U, DE
This pick is truly a reach. Titans ownership will make the mistake they usually do in thinking they have enough weapons for Vince when they simple do not. Campbell is a boom or bust player, but most believe he will be a bust.

25. Seattle....... Needs: TE, RB, OL
Pick: Rashard Mendenhall, Ill, RB
Mendenhall is the eventual replacement to Shaun Alexander, who cannot make it through a season healthy. I think Rashard will be a stud in the NFC and will use his speed to rip through defenses.

26. Jacksonville..... Needs: DE, WR, S
Pick: James Hardy, IU, WR
Jacksonville has a history of taking tall WRs. Unlike all of their other WRs, who lacked skill, Hardy is the hardworking type that will succeed in the NFL and will be a better receiver than Matt Jones and Reggie Williams.

27. San Diego.....Needs: S, DL, OL
Pick: Phillip Merling, CLEM, DE
Merling is rising up draft boards and may even be a higher pick when it comes to April. He provides depth up front and will help aid a tremendous pass rush.

28. Dallas...........Needs CB, WR, RB
Pick: Aquib Talib, KU, CB
If Talib can run a higher 40 time, he will be a top 20 pick. Talib is the victim to a deep CB class. Dallas is thankful because Terrence Newman is their only other good corner.

29. San Francisco.... Needs WR, DL, OLB
Pick: Devin Thomas, MSU, WR
Thomas is a tall target that will blossom in this young offense. Shaun Hill will be the starting quarterback, and this guy will develop into a solid #2 over his career and will be highly productive, if they have a QB who can actually throw the ball to him. This offense lacks playmakers and is in need of a young guy who can step in right away.

30. Green Bay.... Needs: CB, S, LB
Pick: Reggie Smith, OU, CB/S
Green Bay got lit up in the NFC championship game against Burress. Al Harris got torched, Woodson is getting up there in age. Smith provides versatility, he can play corner or safety and is highly reguarded by some GMs.

31. New England...... Needs: LB, CB, OT
Pick: Forfeited

32. New York Giants...... Needs: OLB, CB, S
Pick: Dan Connor, PSU, ILB
Connor is a steal at this point in the draft, and he cames from Linebacker U. Giants linebackers, like Antonio Pierce, are getting up in age, and they groom the eventual replacement.

Players pushing for first round: Early Doucet, WR LSU...... Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona....... Chad Henne, QB, Mich........ Fred David, TE, USC.........

* To be decided by a coinflip

With Cris Williams still on the board, I don't see the 49ers taking anyone else.

The Jets already have plenty of players who don't fit their scheme. Adding one more seems counter productive.

It is surprising considering that aside from QB, WR is the very last thing the Patriots need. On the entire team.

I could be wrong, but wouldn't Tampa want a speedster to eventualy take over the role of Joey Galloway?

No, this doesn't THAT much sense. First, name the players Jerry Jones has drafted from Arkansas. You can look it up, I'll wait. Second, why is running back such a need for the Cowboys? Both are free agents, but at least one is going to stay and it is likely the pro bowler Barber. Third, if a deal isn'r done, why wouldn't the Cowboys simply franchise Barber?

DE is not really a priority for the Chargers. Castillo and Olshansky are both good starters that haven't met their potential yet and we have resigned both backups to contract extensions. Reggie Smith is probably the best player the Chargers could hope for and would make an excellent selection.

Getting very very tired of that pick. And both S and CB are bigger needs than LB.

Even if the Titans draft Campbell, which will not happen, Jim Washburn is one of the league's best at developing Defensive ends and prospects like Campbell are ones that Jim Washburn make very productive.

The Vikes need to go DE in round 1. Derrick Harvey, Calais Campbell, or Phillip Merling should be the pick.

i really do not think connor, although it seems like the popular pick for the giants on this site, fits our team that well. hes not overally athletic and we have a huge blitzing team which he cannot do especially well
id rather have like sam baker, chris williams or CB like cason or porter or flowers

Good Pick I would love to See Kelly in Purple. What worries me is the Childress thing about no 1st round WRs.

Good Bills pick.
However, you have our needs messed up. They are (in no specific order), WR, OLB, CB.

i can defend the pats pick for a receiver...... stallworth may have been a one year rental.... if this is the case, who would be your other outside receiver? gaffney? chad jackson? i dont think they are the answer.... if any of you say wes welker you do not know football cuz he is truly a slot receiver and is one of the best in the game today

Why does everyone think the Giants will draft Dan Connor? In Spags system the secondary/dline are most important for the D's overall success and we have capeable LBs with Wilkinson (WLB), Pierce, Kiwi, Deossie, Blackburn, Mitchell (if he returns), Torbor (if he returns). I see us either going CB/S or going for a OG (Albert) or possibly a WR with how deep this class is.

the skins wont take harvey over campbell or merling. they have made it public that they want a big end that can play outside normally but also slide inside at the dt spot in certain situations and get pressure up the middle. until after the combine id say its a toss up though between campbell and merling.
