View Full Version : Newest Mock(Reasoning for first 9 picks)

First Round
1. Miami (1-15)- Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio State
Reasoning: After getting rid of Zach they will most likely move Crowder inside and draft a guy like Chris Long or Gholston.
2. St. Louis (3-13)- Chris Long, DE, Virginia
Reasoning: Aging D Line and DE looks like a bigger need then DT. Also, Chris Long is the best DE avalible.
3. Oakland (4-12)- Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
Reasoning: D Line needs help.
4. Atlanta (4-12)- Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC
Reasoning: D Line needs help.
5. Kansas City (4-12)- Jake Long, OT, Michigan
Reasoning: O Line is aging and bad, by far KC's biggest need.
6. New York Jets (4-12)- Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas
Reasoning: 1. Thomas Jones isn't that good, 2. Some people say they don't need a RB that badly but when a guy this good falls to you and you could kinda use a RB you take him. Look at what happened with AD.
7. New England (from San Francisco) (5-11)- Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy State
Reasoning: Most likely they lose Asante Samuel to FA, and they don't have any legit starting CB's other then Samuel.
8. Baltimore (5-11)- Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
Reasoning: Baltimore seriously needs to upgrade the signal-caller position if it wants to return to the postseason. The best available here is Matt Ryan, thanks to the Jets picking Darren McFadden.
9. Cincinnati (7-9)- Keith Rivers, OLB, USC
Reasoning: Pollack has been hurt and turned out to be a waste of a pick(as of right now.), Thurman is the same as Pollack only instead of injury it's suspention. In other words, THEY NEED A LB BADLY!
10. New Orleans (7-9)- Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
11. Buffalo (7-9)- Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
12. Denver (7-9)- Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State
13. Carolina (7-9)- Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
14. Chicago (7-9)- Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
15. Detroit (7-9)- Philip Merling, DE, Clemson
16. Arizona (8-8)- Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
17. Minnesota (8-8)- Kenny Phillips, FS, Miami
18. Houston (8-8)- Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois
19. Philadelphia (8-8)- DeSean Jackson, WR, Cal
20. Tampa Bay (9-7)- Kentwan Balmer, DT, North Carolina
21. Washington (9-7)- Calais Campbell, DE, Miami
22. Dallas (from Cleveland) (10-6)- Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas
23. Pittsburgh (10-6)- Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt
24. Tennessee (10-6)- Mario Manninham, WR, Michigan
25. Seattle (10-6)- Fred Davis, TE, USC
26. Jacksonville (11-5)- Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida
27. San Diego (11-5)- Pat Sims, DT, Auburn
28. Dallas (13-3)- Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas
29. San Francisco (from Indianapolis) (13-3)- Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
30. Green Bay (13-3)- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, TSU
31. New England (pick forfeited) (16-0)
32. New York Giants (10-6)- Reggie Smith, DB, Oklahoma

Nice Eagles pick.

I personally think this is the best pick for the giants possible without trade up. And I love the pick as well.

Okay Baltimore pick and Good Houston pick.

Really not a goods Pats pick. I understand CB but the value is off and they're not going to reach on a corner and pay him as a Top 10 pick. In that situation they'll take Keith Rivers or trade down with a team that might like Matt Ryan such as Carolina or Chicago.

I still don't think we can pass up Phillips right now, maybe if Phillips does terrible at the combine(which i doubt) and Stewart does amazing(which I can see) then it's fine but as of right now Phillips > Stewart

I'm not a fan of Sims to the Chargers because he doesn't project very well to NT and we have good DE depth. DB is a larger need imo.

Decent pick for the redskins, Cromartie would be a much better pick

Absolutely PERFECT Phins pick! Great job!

D-Mac wouldn't fair much better behind that line right now...the way you have it falling sure they would take him there but if given the opportunity betwen Gholston and D-Mac they would choose Gholston. Jones amassed 1100 yards behind that line last year. They need upgrades at LG and RT.
