Probably should have waited for the CBs to run. Tried to have a little fun with this one. Want to see what the Falcon fans say :).

Draft
1. Miami Dolphins - Chris Long, DE/OLB

Total package.

2. St.Louis Rams - Glenn Dorsey, DT - LSU

Healthy Glenn Dorsey is the best player in this draft. Until more comes of his injury I'm leaving him here,

3. Atlanta trades # 3 overall to Dallas Cowboys for pick 22, 28 and Marion Barber
Dallas Cowboys - Darren McFadden, RB - Arkansas

This trade was inspired by Jbond. His idea and I kind of agree with it. The Falcons need to rebuild in the worst way, and this would give them the opportunity. Barber and Norwood would be a great runningback combo. I'll wait until their picks for further explanation.

4. Oakland Raiders - Sedrick Ellis, DT - USC

5. Kansas City Chiefs - Jake Long, OT - Michigan

Steal. Want to give him to Oakland

6. New York Jets - Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB - Ohio State

7. Carolina Panthers trade #13 and second rounder to New England Patriots

Carolina selects Matt Ryan, QB - Boston College

Carolina doesn't have a ton of needs. They jump in front of Baltimore to snag Ryan.

8. Baltimore Ravens - Ryan Clady, OT - Boise State

Value. I know about Gaither. Don't worry. Two solid bookends.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - Derrick Harvey, DE - Florida

No matter if they go to a 3-4 or stay with the 4-3 he will be able to contribute. Helps with the loss of Justin Smith.

10. New Orleans Saints - Keith Rivers, LB - USC

Corner is an option. Toss up.

11. Buffalo Bills - Malcom Kelly, WR - Oklahoma

Almost reached for Balmer. I don't like the value either way.

12. Denver Broncos - Jonathon Stewart, RB - Oregon

13. New England Patriots from Carolina Panthers - Leodis McKelvin, CB - Troy

14. Chicago Bears - Chris Williams, OT - Vanderbilt

15. Seattle Seahawks trade #25 and second rounder to Detroit

Seattle Seahawks - Rashard Mendenhall, RB - Illinois

Seattle doesn't have a ton of needs. They won't to get a top 3 runningback. Detroit isn't locked in on a certain prospect and move down. Seattle is worried about Arizona taking a RB.

16. Arizona Cardinals - Dominique Rodgers - Cromartie , CB - Tennessee St.

Rolle moving to safety.

17. Philadelphia Eagles trade Donovan McNabb to Minnesota Vikings for pick #17

Philadelphia Eagles select - Mike Jenkins, CB - South Florida

Rip it apart! I dare you!

18. Houston Texans - Aqib Talib, CB - Kansas

Run on corners. I don't nessecary like it, but thats how it worked out. Dunta has a serious knee injury. Fred Bennett was a nice pick up though.

19. Philadelphia Eagles - James Hardy, WR - Indiana

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Devin Thomas, WR - Michigan

21. Atlanta Falcons trade DeAngelo Hall to Washington Redskins for pick 21.

Atlanta Falcons select - Jeff Otah, OT - Pittsburgh

22. Atlanta Falcons from Dallas Cowboys - Brian Brohm, QB - Louisville

23. Pittsburgh Steelers - Brandon Albert, OL - Virginia

24. Tennessee Titans - Kentwan Balmer, DT - North Carolina

25. Detroit Lions from Seattle Seahawks - Brandon Flowers, CB - Virginia Tech

26. Jacksonville Jaguars - Phillip Merling, DE - Clemson

Fell further than I would like.

27. San Diego Chargers - Gosder Cherilous, RT - Boston College

28. Atlanta Falcons - Dan Connor, MLB - Penn State

29. San Francisco 49'ers - Quentin Groves, DL/LB - Auburn

30. Green Bay Packers - Tracy Porter, CB - Indiana

31. New York Giants - Kenny Phillips, S - Miami

32. Pick eaten by Charlie Weiss

Round 2

33. Miami Dolphins - Limas Sweed, WR - Texas

34. St. Louis Rams - Sam Baker, OT - USC

35. Oakland Raiders - DeSean Jackson, WR - Cal

36. Kansas City Chiefs - Mario Manningham, WR - Michigan

37. New York Jets - Pat Sims, DL - Auburn

38. Atlanta Falcons - Dustin Keller, TE - Purdue

39. Baltimore Ravens - Joe Flacco, QB - Delaware

40. San Francisco 49ers - Donnie Avery, WR - Houston

41. New Orleans Saints - Trevor Laws, DT - Notre Dame

42. Buffalo Bills - John Carlson, TE - Notre Dame

43. Denver Broncos - Lavelle Hawkins, WR - Cal

44. New England Patriots from Carolina Panthers - Cliff Avril, DE/OLB - Purdue

45. Chicago Bears - Chad Henne, QB - Michigan

46. Detroit Lions - Calais Campbell, DE - Miami

47. Cincinnati Bengals - Fred Davis, TE - USC

48. Minnesota Vikings - Lawrence Jackson, DE - USC

49. Atlanta Falcons thru Houston - Patrick Lee, CB - Auburn

50. Philadelphia Eagles - DaJuan Morgan, S - NC St.

51. Arizona Cardinals - Matt Forte, RB - Tulane

52. Washington Redskins - Jeremy Thompson, DE - Wake Forest

53. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Josh Johnson, QB - San Diego

54. Pittsburgh Steelers - Owen Schmitt, FB - West Virginia

55. Tennessee Titans - Andre Caldwell, WR - Florida

56. Detroit Lions thru Seattle Seahawks - Jerod Mayo, MLB - Tennessee

57. Cleveland Browns - Chris Johnson, RB - ECU

58. Miami Dolphins from San Diego - Curtis Lofton, MLB - Oklahoma

59. Jacksonville Jaguars - Chilo Rachal, OG - USC

60. Indianapolis Colts - Chris Ellis, DE - Virginia Tech

61. Green Bay Packers - Tavares Gooden, LB - Miami

62. Dallas Cowboys - Charles Godfrey, CB - Iowa

63. New England Patriots - Beau Bell, ILB - UNLV

64. New York Giants - Justin King, CB - Penn State

Great 1st round pick for the Phins. I'm very iffy on the 2nd round though. No doubt Sweed would be a good pick, but better picks there would be Carlson or Flacco, at least more likely for us I think than Sweed. Also not a big fan of Lofton. He is a good player but doesn't seem to be a great fit for our system. I would much rather have Rachal there for the offensive line, or a guy like Ahtyba Rubin for the middle of our defensive line. Then we could get an ILB later like Phillip Wheeler or J Leman that would be better fits for our 3-4 scheme.

McNabb for just our first round pick? Sure! I'd rather have Chris Ellis than Lawrence Jackson in the second. More speed.

Andre Caldwell is yucky, but I like the Balmer pick to the titans even though I invented it. :)

I like the first pick, just meh on the second. I would prefer Chilo Rachal there and maybe pick up a CB or a WR in the 3rd.

Dont know why it was anyones idea to still conjur up ideas to trade Barber, those deals make absolutely no sense what so ever for Dallas, its just something that started as a rumor and people ran wild with it, what other rational explanation do you have for Dallas doing that?

We have one rb now, Barber, and rb is still a need, we need another one in losing Julius Jones...So we should trade our only rb we have right now(a good one at that), and both of our first rd picks to take McFadden...So now were back at square one, we still need a rb, unless you guys think because he runs a 4.2 he doesnt need a backup. Now all we have left is a 2nd rd pick, to address wr, rb, db, all are areas of huge need and we only have a 2nd rd pick to decide which one need to fill.

If you guys want to make trades with Dallas moving up for DMac, make it have something involving Spears, Carpenter, Fasano, or Ferguson, they are guys who have value that are also expendable...Jerry knows AD was worked in with Chester Taylor his rookie year, and will be his 2nd year also, that had alot to do with his learning curve, starting slow until he hit his stride and limiting carries...Were a team with super bowl aspirations, do you guys really think Jerry is crazy enough to place that burden on a rookie rb with nothing proven behind him? What happens if he misses 5 games? Were not going to trade Barber, Jerry has all intentions on keeping him and at worst case tendering him, and working him in with Barber.

I really like the Colts' pick, with Laws and Avril off the board. Assuming Ellis passes the psychological evals.

Nice job overall, Scotty.

actually i liked the vikes draft so im giving you an A+ we should of traded up the first time and got McNabb after the philli fans booed him

I agree that, if that is how the first 10 picks went, the Bills would have to reach for a good player.
Anyway, good pick in the 1st.
In the 2nd, I'd rather we go with a LB or CB. Going WR and TE in the first two rounds doesnt seem like a good idea to me. I'd rather go with Patrick Lee or Tavares Gooden.

BTW, what round do you see Dustin Keller going in? I thought he would go in the 4th (pre-combine), but now I think he's moved himself into the 3rd.

ok sd pick rather see smith if available though.

meh on the ravens, could be worse...at least you didnt give us brian brohm there. ugh...gross. i think clady is the best value...but we need a CB real bad...maybe mcklevin there? and if mike jenkins runs low 4.4 at his pro day, maybe him. I dunno now. We could trade down?

oh, and i dont want flacco. We already have one QB project on our hands, and flacco is essentially the same QB as Kyle Boller. except boller is more athletic and most liklely has a better arm...so id prefer to just have someoen work woth Boller, i havent given up on him yet. give us patrick lee, charles godfrey, cliff avril, or maybe even calais campbell there. Yes, calais might be interesting...i wonder how ryan would work him in.

****************I was just talking about this same trade scenario with my co-worker. I just don't think McFadden alone will help us. And we pick up two additional picks in the first and get a proven RB.******************

21. Atlanta Falcons trade DeAngelo Hall to Washington Redskins for pick 21.

Atlanta Falcons select - Jeff Otah, OT - Pittsburgh

********I would hate to get rid of D. Hall, but if he's unhappy and the FO is feilding offers then this is pretty good value.*********

22. Atlanta Falcons from Dallas Cowboys - Brian Brohm, QB - Louisville

28. Atlanta Falcons - Dan Connor, MLB - Penn State

38. Atlanta Falcons - Dustin Keller, TE - Purdue

49. Atlanta Falcons thru Houston - Patrick Lee, CB - Auburn

I give your draft and trade scenarios an A+, I would be real happy if the first one pans out.... M. Barber is a Beast.

ive got no problems trading the #21 for dhall.

in rd 2 i dont think that thompson is really the fit we are looking for although i do like him as a prospect and i wouldnt be upset if we took him. if he can add 10 lbs and keep his speed then id really love him but as of now i dont think he has the build that the skins want to add on the line.

Ok Bucs picks not sure I think they would take a QB in the second. More likely take a guy like Dixon in the 4th or 5th round.

Eagles aren't trading Donovan.... next?

Dr. Gonzo
02-26-2008, 01:48 PM
McNabb for a 1st. No way in hell that every happens. As much as I like the guy we on't give up a 1st. I can see a 2nd and a 4th, just not a 1st. EVER. I do like your second round pick for the Vikings.

I think Barber is involved because of his value. The two first rounders aren't enough and adding him makes up for it. There is certainly a good argument against the move. Maybe next time if I make a trade I would include different pieces.

I really like the Colts' pick, with Laws and Avril off the board. Assuming Ellis passes the psychological evals.

Good 1st rounder for the Giants but I hate Justin King in the 2nd

IMO, Mendenhall is a much better fit for Denver's zone block scheme than Stewart... and considering they are very close in terms of value, I'm not sure why the Broncos would favor Stewart here.

Caddy
02-27-2008, 01:46 AM
Thomas is good but considering the value you have given other players, I think Merling still makes more sense in the 1st round. Although Thomas certainly isn't a poor pick. Regarding Johnson, seems like a bit of a reach to me.

Don Killuminati
02-27-2008, 05:02 AM
I'd rather have Chris Johnson than Desean Jackson, personally. Better overall athlete and addresses 3 needs at RB, WR, and RS.

Falcons fans would be ecstatic with that trade... and, for the most part, with those picks.
