Didn't see this posted anywhere. But it was in Minnesota area newspapers that ESPN didn't renew their contract with Sean Salisbury. Thank god.
ESPN apparently also signed a contract with Cris Carter, I guess to replace him. Cris Carter is actually pretty bad too. At least his stuff on Yahoo.

Cris Carter's bad, but anything beats listening to Salisbury. Carter might at least beat out Emmitt Smith.
I hope this doesn't mean more Merrill Hoge.

YES!
He's so terrible. Basically if you won your last game, you're playoff bound. He had such terrible knee jerk reactions.

i always liked them, Sean would make fun of John cuz he looks funny and John would make fun of Sean because he's incredibly stupid

At least we still got Trey Wingo
There isn't one good analyst outside of Tom Jackson on that network. They need to stop looking at former players, the gimmick is so old.

I believe the football analysts on television are like 90% fail, 5% average, 4% good, 1% Chuck Norris.

NFL Network kicks the crap out of ESPN. Mayock, Sanders, Mooch, Davis, and the gang just mop the floor with those guys (outside of Jackson, Stink, and Wingo).

the nfl network is garbage...but I only say that because I don't watch it that often...so I really can't say it's garbage...
well, it's garbage that I'd have to upgrade my satellite tv package to get it...

I'm glad they got rid of him. I couldn't stand him.

Do you have Dish Network?
I have Dish Network, and they took away NFL Network about a week ago.

They will probably just replace him with another player that no one has heard of or they will bring in a HOF caliber guy who will suck and look like an idiot, like Emmitt.
I laugh at the idea that just because someone played in the NFL that they are automatically qualified to be on TV and analyze the game. If they wanted to truly contribute to their broadcasts, they would bring on a former NFL scout/GM or someone like that who's job it was to be a good analyst.

Randy Mueller was a good analyst. Maybe they will bring him back?

Call me crazy, but does anyone else actually like Keyshawn Johnson? I think he does a fairly good job. Especially compared to some of the other people they have.

Love him. I think he does an outstanding job and he's very poised and relaxed unlike Irvin was.
Wait a second, if Salisbury isn't kept around, who will schlob all over Peyton Manning and Bob Sanders' nuts all the time?

hate him. he was better than i expected him to be...but, that crap this past season when he called out TO for basically no reason was stupid. i'm pretty convinced ESPN hired him just so he could go after TO whenever he decided to do something stupid..but, it never really happened...so they just made some crap up.

On February 20 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_20), 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008) Dish Network moved the NFL Network from its "America's Top 100" package the higher "America's Top 200" package. Dish Network notified customers that the NFL Network was "moving out of Free Preview into America's Top 200 package" on February 20 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_20), 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008). The move cost the network four million subscribers.[16] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Network#_note-Dish2) On February 27 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_27), 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008) the NFL Network announced it would file suit against Dish Network (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dish_Network) for moving the network to "America's Top 200". The move stems from the NFL Network's decision to simulcast the 2007 New England Patriots (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_England_Patriots)-New York Giants (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Giants) game on CBS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBS) and NBC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBC) in addition to the game being shown on the NFL Network.[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Network#_note-Dish1)
I don't know if that's good or bad for us cable customers. That's what the cable companies wanted to do but NFLN wouldn't allow it.

Here in Chicago we had to deal with Salisbury on the Salisbury and Rosenbloom show on ESPN 1000 for about 8 months in 06 07. Luckily after bad ratings and poor shows they killed the show and brought the much better Silvy and Waddle Show with Marc Silverman and Tom Waddle. I don't know what the hell Salisbury was doing in the Chicago sports market and I felt bad for the several guys like Silverman who weren't getting a consistent show everyday because of those two guys who never even worked there before. They brought Waddle in from the Score after his contract was up and teamed with Silverman, the longest tenured guy they had outside of Mac Jurko and Harry which is the best radio show I've ever heard by the way. And I don't mind the Bears talk cuse I love football and they bring quality radio on both shows.

I have a good idea...
stop trying to get Hall of Fame players who are horrible TV people and just get someone who can talk football without stuttering over their words (Emmitt Smith), acting plain stupid (Michael Irvin), and actually sounding like they have no idea what they are talking about (Sasilbery). Now, I like some guys like Keyshawn Johnson, Jackson, and Ditka, but for the most part they could be better.
ESPN should hire me, haha.
