WRONG

That was ridiculously disappointing. Bradbury is the only author that I like and they took a great story and made it into complete crap.

Also, if transformers isn't amazing, it is automatically the worst movie ever for me. If over 5% of the movie is about humans I'm gonna kill somebody.

Are you kidding me? Malibu's Most Wanted was not fantastic, but it is a passable comedy that has rewatch value. Jamie Kennedy was pretty funny there. I'm not usually a fan of his, but he was really good in this role.

Cable Guy was one of the best comedies of the 90's. Incredibly underrated movie. It wasn't a crazy comedy like Ace Ventura, but Jim Carey was unbelievable in it. Matthew Broderick was a solid "straight man", too.

IMO, Troy was absolutely not awesome. I found the plot to be quite ridiculous. The Iliad, by Homer, was much better story. If they stuck with that a little better, the directors and producers would have had a better movie. The fight scenes were legit, but the plot was just ridiculous.

Agree about the plot, I guess it was the fight scenes that made it a "great" movie for me.

I haven't seen many movies that I didn't like lately.

Well, Ghost Rider was about a 6 out of 10.

The effects were great and "The Number 23" was a 8 out of 10. I really enjoyed it.

I look at a movie as the sum of its parts. Yes, certain things can help it overcome issues, but when they almost make it a happy ending and have such ridiculous stuff happen, it is just unacceptable. In The Iliad, Hector's wife is gang-raped, then she and her baby are thrown from the top of the walls of the city. Agamemnon takes Achilles' concubine (the Apollo Priestess) back to Greece as a concubine of his own. The Greeks gutted the entire city of Troy and left nothing these for them. That would have been much more realistic. If they had stuck to the basic premise there, it would have been a solid movie.

The Birth of a Nation.

It's a 3 hour long, silent, black and white movie "about" the civil war. Only it's not actually about the civil war. It depicts a typical upright southern city that gets taken over by a group of "troublesome blacks". So all of the white people are cowering in fear and in danger. Now who is the hero to dispel this evil? Why, the ku klux klan of course. The final scene of the movie is playing the Ride of the Valkeryies as the klan rides into town and saves the day.

I'm not even kidding.

Also an honorable mention would be Un Chien Andalou.

2001: A Space Odyessy

I second that!

My worst five movies ever

- 2001: A Space Odyssey: I was drunk while watching it and still did not manage to enjoy it.

- A.I.: worst movie ever. It's too long, there's no lesbians and lots and lots of overly dramatic scenes, the 10 minute 'blue fairy' scene made my skin crawl

- anything by M. Knight Shaymalan: I hated the 6th sense and it went downhill from there, rock bottom was called 'signs'.

- Last Days: you'd have more fun staring down a blind wall. If this was anything like Kurt Cobains life, I understand he killed himself.

- Star Wars III: Can't believe I watched an entire movie to see Padmé and she's barely on the screen and dies at the end. I put it here out of spite.

The Devils Rejects: The only movie I have EVER not finished (rented the DVD) without have seeing it before. Literally no plot to it, just typical Rob Zombie bull **** and gore and sex, but it was all so random and I couldn't stand to watch those ugly pieces of white trash any more.

The Covenant: Would have walked out on this one as well but it was in a theater. SO unbelievable cheesy and cliche. It was almost like the movie spinal tap (in the sense of cheesiness and plot) except it was meant to be serious...not good at all.

may be strange but I did not like Saw, everybody was raving over it saying it was better than se7en and it's really not.

I first thought it wasn't very good but still decent, until the ending. The ending was so friggin' dumb I could not believe they actually put it in. Then I read in a newspaper they thought it was a 'suprising' ending, like the 6th sense. Well I hate the sixth sense (see other post), and Saw failed to impress me as well.

Battle Royale

Incorrect. Battle Royale is just in japanese. The premise beats the hell out of the Condemed because you have 9th graders playing lord of the flies. except for real. go rent suicide club. THEN watch battle royale. or go rent audition. that's good too.

saving silverman

neil diamond saves that movie. seriously. it's can't be the worst if only because that. unless you hate neil diamond. and then i'll sing. sweet caroline. (oh gosh, i'm drunk, because i uh. started writing sweet child o mine and then stopped and erased it.)

Pans Labyrinth
biggest homer comment of the thread. the movie is phenomenal. you might call it misleading because it was totally misinterpreted as a movie because of the previews. but. the movie, if you take it out of that context. was honestly one of the best this year.

everyone go see Breach its a good movie seriously

true. it really is super awesome. DMH says something worthwhile! :-p

wow, i find that surprising because I thoroughly enjoyed Closer, actually one of my favorite recent movies, and I have only heard good things from other people.

also true. the movie is disgustingly good. key word is disgustingly...

worst movies = manos: hand of fate, plan 9 from outer space (but ed wood was great... johnny depp. gaaaaah.), Glitter (yes, a few girl friends of mine wanted me to watch it. i laughed in silence to prevent myself from tearing my eyes out).

It was released by a major film company and looks like it was recorded by a High School TV Class. The effects were nothing short of funny, the actors were awful, and other than one nice pair of boobs, there was just a lot of stupid dialogue and well..yeah.
