Gone With the Wind

anyone ever watch this movie? I watched it over the past week, and when I first started, I was like "great, a 4 hour bore-fest."

To my surprise, Gone With the Wind turned out to be a fantastic movie and I think it is now my all time favorite movie. It was a masterpiece. The guy who talks about the movies on TCM said that if you haven't seen it before, he envies you because of how good the movie is. Lets just say I now envy whoever hasn't seen this movie.

Also, anyone ever read the book? If so, how would you compare it to the movie?

I just watched the first half of it last night. I was very suprised to see how good it was and I'll be watching the rest tomorrow. The acting is much different but the writing is much better than any movie we'll get to see.

She has been terrible for the first half. I'm hoping she is out of the movie when I watch the 2nd half.

I tend to get bored very quickly with these older movies. Still never saw all of it...and not really in a hurry to.

Yeah, "Dictionary" isn't nearly as good as the book. They left out a few important scenes and the ending is completely different. I prefer "Thesaurus", it's much more true to the book.

I had a similar experience with the movie Casablanca. In High School we were scheduled to watch it in film class one day. Thinking I'd be bored out of my mind, I almost skipped class that day. Well, it turned out to be one of the better movies I've seen.

The movie is very good. But its hard to find time to watch it..It has been a good 8 years since I last saw it...Did not read the book...

Any movie with the king Humphrey Bogart is a classic. I highly recommend The Big Sleep if you liked Casablanca.

i saw this movie 10 years ago. reallllllllllly didn't like it. i kept falling asleep. i had high hopes but maybe my taste in movies hadn't evolved to the point of appreciating that movie yet. i might try it again. but not soon.
