No details on the trades, Buffalo and NE swap, and Denver and Seattle swap.
1. Miami Dolphins- Matt Ryan QB Boston College
I've been wanting to have a mock with Ryan #1 so here it is. The FA deals are looking like we're not gonna need a rush backer and from what I've heard Ireland loves Ryan.
2. St. Louis Rams- Chris Long DE Virginia
I like this pick a lot more than the Dorsey pick I've been giving them. Fills a need, I like them going DE more than DT.
3. Atlanta Falcons- Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
They are supposed to be in the lead for Turner and I don't really like McFadden here either. Really considered going with Long but I think the new coach wants to get a DT. Probably have Long here next time though.
4. Oakland Raiders- Darren McFadden RB Arkansas
With Kelly being locked up I don't see DT being picked this high. Davis goes for the flashy pick with McFadden. I can see Jake here but don't buy it.
5. Kansas City Chiefs- Jake Long OT Michigan
A bit of a no brainer here. Ideal situation for KC.
6. New York Jets- Vernon Gholston DE/OLB Ohio State
I've been a bit eh on this pick but I think the combine locks him up here. They've added Jenkins but need a pass rush.
7. Buffalo Bills (f/NE)- Sedrick Ellis DT USC
I wanted Ellis going here, had a bit of a hard time deciding who trades up. I considered the Saints and Carolina but went with Buffalo because of the lack of options for them at 11.
8. Baltimore Ravens- Leodis McKelvin CB Troy
Not really much of an explanation from me here, same pick as last time, fits a need, value fits.
9. Cincinnati Bengals- Derrick Harvey DE Florida
They've added Rogers up front but still need some outside pressure. They're supposed to be moving to a 3-4 so Harvey fits, might have to drop some weight but still looked good at his current weight.
10. New Orleans Saints- Aqib Talib CB Kansas
Had a bit of a tough time with this pick, they added Vilma and brought back another backer who I can't recall right now, so I think they pass on Rivers. Thought about DRC, but I think Talib has the better chance of going this high. Really want to hear from Saints fans about this one.
11. New England Patriots (f/BUF)- Keith Rivers LB USC
If I had them stay at 7 this would have likely been the pick. Talib and Rivers are a bit interchangeable but I like Rivers here more.
12. Seattle Seahawks (f/DEN) - Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon
Seems they miss out on Turner and they're bringing in Alge for TE so I can see them making a move. Denver is the type to deal so that's why I choose them.
13. Carolina Panthers- Ryan Clady OT Boise State
14. Chicago Bears- Rashard Mendenhall RB Illinois
15. Detroit Lions- Mike Jenkins CB South Florida
16. Arizona Cardinals- Quentin Groves OLB Auburn
17. Minnesota Vikings- Jeff Otah OT Pittsburgh
18. Houston Texans- Chris Williams OT Vanderbilt
19. Philadelphia Eagles- Phillip Merling DE Clemson
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Kentwan Balmer DT North Carolina
21. Washington Redskins- Malcolm Kelly WR Oklahoma
22. Dallas Cowboys- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB Tennessee State
23. Pittsburgh Steelers- Brandon Albert OG Virginia
24. Tennessee Titans- Limas Sweed WR Texas
25. Denver Broncos (f/SEA)- Kenny Phillips S Miami
26. Jacksonville Jaguars- Trevor Laws DT Notre Dame
27. San Diego Chargers- Carl Nicks OT Nebraska
28. Dallas Cowboys- Felix Jones RB Arkansas
29. San Francisco 49ers- Desean Jackson WR Cal
30. Green Bay Packers- Patrick Lee CB Auburn
31. New England Patriots- Cody Mahan OG Baylor
32. New York Giants- Reggie Smith DB Oklahoma
I'll add some more comments later. Some of the later picks were bugging me but it turned out decently well.
