Cowboys | Dunn interested in team
Mon, 3 Mar 2008 17:15:20 -0800
Albert Breer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports free-agent RB Warrick Dunn (http://www.kffl.com/player/99/nfl) (Falcons) is interested in the Dallas Cowboys (http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl). A CAA agent who represents Dunn, Jim Steiner, reached out to the Cowboys (http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl) Monday, March 3, to see if they had interest in him. The Cowboys (http://www.kffl.com/team/14/nfl) are taking a wait-and-see approach to see where the market for Dunn goes before making a serious move.
any takers?

Not interested. I think you can get someone in the draft that can do what he does and is much younger and much cheaper.

I'd rather sign Tatum Bell and draft someone.
I feel about this the same way I felt the Eddie George signing a few years ago. I'm just not buying he can be anything then but a veteran leader for Barber and whoever else we bring in via the draft or FA.

I didnt bring this up, but as soon as we he was cut I knew we would be linked together, im kind of on the fence...depends on what we plan on doing in the draft, but i dont want Dunn over chris johnson at all, but at the same time Dunn has alot left in the tank and could still break some long plays off...he would probably be cheap also, maybe if we go get deangelo or javon walker, but id rather take johnson...i wouldnt be upset if we got him because he is cheap, but im not pushing for it...i just had a feeling we would talk to him.

I'd love to have Warrick. He was one of my favorite players when I was younger...not to mention he is a seasoned vet. Think Kevin Fault for the pats...that is what Dunn could be for us...not to mention it was basically stated he would sign for the league minimum on one of the articles over at scout.
No rookie would be able to do on third downs what he could with us...just because he pass blocking skills are going to keep us multi-dimensional...they won't be able to pick a side of the backfield to attack with the blitz...and in our division that is huge.

I think Marion is our own version of Kevin Faulk, he does all those little things really well just like Barber, not that I dont think Dunn wont be valuable for his veteran leadership and presence itself, but I think we have that type of guy right now.

i think thule meant that warrick would be a pure 3rd down back for us..... barber does make big plays but dunn would be a good addition if we can get for cheap...... if a chris johnson, f. jones get drafted then im not for sure how much time dunn will get but as a 3 down blocker and reciever out of the backfield he would be a plus..... something Big D hasn't had in a few years!
