GROUNDBREAKING INSIGHT BY TOM KOWALSKI:The Detroit Lions have come to the understanding that success isn't found by making big splashes in free agency, according to Lions Insider Tom Kowalski in an interview with Sean Baligian on WDFN-AM in Detroit.
Both Dre Bly and Damien Woody were significant signings that didn't help the Lions rise from the bottom of the NFL. The less-aggressive approach the team has taken in recent free-agency periods shows an understanding that quality teams build through the draft.
The unfortunate thing, according to Kowalski, is that while the Lions are investing in a sound philosophy, they're limited by their inability to draft successfully.
Well, at least we know that Millen knows how to build a team.. He just can't do it right. Why is he our GM still? Anybody?
