No Warren Sapp love huh. If you look up 3 technique there should be a picture of him and John Randle. Alot of players have tried to live up to his stats but none have even come close. I love how he took a gracefull exit out. We may never see another DT like him in 10 years. He helped to revolutionize football as we know it today.

I think its a basic consensus that he is a future 1st ballot HOF...

I would have loved to see these two together in G&G. Sapp just retired at the wrong moment, but for sure he is a first ballot HOF.

no love? I don't think there's anyone here who doesn't think of sapp as a first ballot HOF... I really don't get why this needs a thread.

Speaking of John Randle, when is he eligible for the HOF? Does he get in?

His first year of eligibility is 2009.

this thread is going no where fast.

Also, i keep seeing your sig SaintsFanForLife, and if i'm scrolling down i keep thinking i'm passing one of my own posts. Must be the sig, even though they aren't all that similar.

he just chose the wrong time to retire, because everyone was so focused on Favre. Incredible player, one of the best DTs of all time. First ballot HOFer for sure.

I always wondered what Strahan and Sapp in their prime would do together on the same dline. That would be insane.

Obviously everybody knows he was a monster pass rusher with almost 100 sacks from the DT spot. I'm happy people recognize he's a first ballot HOF. One thing Sapp did was get average DE's big sack totals. Chidi Ahanotu got 10 sacks playing next to Sapp in 1997. Marcus Jones got 13.5 in 2000. Brad Culpepper (DT) got 8.5 in 1998. And Simeon Rice's career got put back on track because he had Sapp next to him. For me Sapp and Randle changed the DT position the way LT did at linebacker.

no, Allan Page changed the DT position. Sapp was a modern page.
