John Clayton reported that if the trade for Deangelo Hall goes through, you would be trading Washington to the Browns. Is this guy a solid starter? Can you give me any usual opinions of him?

I know hes fast, but is he a football player also and not just a track guy. Can he cover. Will he continue to be a starter or is he a nickle guy.

His rookie season he showed a lot of promise, he is fast and he can cover, he is also pretty strong for his size, believe it or not. He is better suited to play the man to man coverage. He had a bad season because we couldn't rush the QB and teams would run all the time and set up easy passes (keep in mind this when evaluating him, and Nnamdi Asomugha)

Not so sure.....

I think he lacks size and technique. Maybe you can make up an excuse for his poor play, but what cant be discussed is that he did lose his starting job to Stanford Routt 1/4 into the season.

Yea and then he did manage to get it back.....he played a lot better towards the end. Fabian Washington is a solid corner but he would be out of pplace in a cover imo....i dont think he's strong nough to jam a whole lot and i dont think he'll be able to make tackles against the run

His sophomore season was his best. In '06 he did very well. Last year he was hampered by nagging calf/hamstring injuries all year long and it showed. His explosiveness was quite lacking from speed, acceleration, agility and leaping ability. I believe that without those injuries, there is no way that Routt beats him out of his job.

The only reason Oakland is trading him instead of Routt is because there's a bigger market. I think Washington has potential, and I don't think he's nearly as lost in coverage as, say, Phillip Buchanon was during the latter part of his Oakland career.

He could very well make an impact wherever he goes, but he's going to need to display an increased work ethic. Al Davis isn't one to typically give up on first round defensive backs so easily (especially ones he explicitly traded up for), so maybe the Oakland staff has a better perspective of Fabian's worth ethic or attitude. Either way, he has the talent to succeed.

I hope he doesnt go.We dont need Hall.Get a good RDE and a NT and our pass rush will be better.
Although i did hear that if we do trade him we get Cribbs and a 4th.

We don't need another 4th, we need either a third or second.
