Giants - Brandon Flowers. CB. Virginia Tech
Giants - Earl Bennett. WR. Vanderbilt
Giants - Tom Zbikowski. S. Notre Dame

Okay I personally like Flowers, but I know he really doesnt fit our scheme, but its a good pick if he can transition to safety.

Bennett is not a good pick at all, Id take Marcus Harrison Before him.

Zbikowski is a pure SS, we have 3 safeties, and all of which are all SS. Phillip Wheeler would be the pick there easily.

I like the overall vikings draft though i would rather have Pollak with the 2nd 3. round pick.

But good job

Meh, not a fan of the Giants first pick. It's a reach if you ask me.

Not only that but Flowers has serious character issues which I know the Giants would want no part of.

Bennett in the second is a great pick and Zib is a reach if you ask me. I think he would be a James Butler clone. Makes too many mental mistakes and was overrated in college because he went to Notre Dame.

so the bears draft....

mendenhall is a good pick in 1 with williams off the board.

but in 2.....while OT is a big need, baker doesnt fit at all what the bears do. hes going to be best off in a ZBS and the bears need bigger maulers like fred miller was. (before last year when he was terrible) so while it fills a need, its not the right kind of player.

i personally love woodson to the bears. problem is though, they didnt send a single scout to his workout and he doesnt seem to be in their draft plans at all.

and fluellen doesnt work either. tommie harris is already a somewhat undersized, pass rushing DE and if they go DT, itll be a bigger guy to take the place of what they lost in tank johnson. fluellen just doesnt fit.

so while you hit the needs accurately, its just not the best fitting players

This is a response to the Giants fans.

I don't understand the hating on Brandon Flowers. One guy says he doesn't fit the scheme. The scheme involves heavy pressure from the front 7 and excellent coverage from the secondary. Flowers is an "excellent all around corner with superb man coverage skills." That sure sounds like he fits the scheme. Another guy doesn't like Flowers because he has character issues which the Giants would want no part of. What about Ahmad Bradshaw? He was arrested twice. He enrolled at the University of Virginia before getting dimissed from the team for his antics. The Giants didn't seem to mind drafting him though.

I had Earl Bennett in the second because Toomer is old, Moss hasn't played up to expectation, and Tyree had one memorable game which was the Super Bowl. Burress is 30 and won't be around forever. A duo of Steve Smith and Earl Bennett would be a nice transition for the future receiving core.

In regards to Zbikowski, here's a quote taken from an ESPN writer:

"He has the range to play a center-fielder-type role, and while he doesn't have elite man-to-man cover skills, Zbikowski is athletic enough to match up with most tight ends. That's key for a team that blitzes."

Not bad for the Vikes. But sims makes no sense, the Vikings need a pash rushing DT instead because what their looking for is a 3rd down guy to give Fat Pat a breather. Laws would be perfect.

I disagree about Sam Baker. I believe Baker playing LT with Tait moving to RT would be more than sufficient for the Bears.

Despite the fact that no one was at Woodson's workout, I wouldn't put too much into them not selecting him just yet. A lot can happen between now and the draft.

well im all for the woodson pick like i said. i was upset when i heard teh bears didnt send anyone to his workout while sending a slew of people to flacco's.

but baker.....i just cant see it. its not the position as im sure he can play LT or RT, maybe LG, idk. but hes more of a finesse, undersized, lineman more fit for a ZBS in my opinion. and thats not what the bears usually go for in their lineman

Okay 1st for Baltimore, I'd rather have Sedrick Ellis though. Good 2nd.
Good 1st for Houston. Give us Josh Barrett in the 3rd, he's fills a bigger need.

So far, this is my favorite Eagles mock, but that means it definitely will not happen. Phillips is the best possible pick for the Eagles in the first, and so is Nicks in the second. The only thing I will say is we will most likely draft a WR in either round 1 or 2. I really like the Carlson pick in the third, but doubt he is still available there, I don't care how bad his forty is.

you are right we need someone for the 3. downs/passing downs. But Merling is big enough to play inside so on pass down we could switch into:

Robinson - K-Will - Merling - Edwards

I think Sims would be good because Pat is not gonna play forever and he will soon stop.

No way the Ravens pass up on Matt Ryan if he falls to them.

I can understand your desire for the Texans to draft a safety, but I don't think it's a tremendous need with C.C. Brown, last year's draft pick, Brandon Harrison, and the re-signings of Glenn Earl and Will Demps. Drafting Chris Ellis would give the Texans a very good pass rusher on 3rd down situations over the likes of Anthony Weaver.

As an Eagles fan, I would also love for this to happen. I originally thought the Eagles would go WR in the 1st or 2nd round too, but with Darrell Jackson being released by the 49ers I have this gut feeling that he'll be an Eagle. They struck out on Fitzgerald and who knows about any other top flight WR, but I see them going the Jackson route because he knows the offense rather than them drafting someone who may only partially contribute this season.

Phillips seems logical with Dawkins and Considine in the last years of their contracts. Who knows if one or both of them will be wearing Eagles uniforms next season.

Nicks falling to the Eagles in the 2nd is pretty logical with his recent off the field troubles. I don't see the Eagles passing up on someone to groom to become LT and pair up with Winston Justice for many years to come.

I find it hard to believe that Carlson could fall to the Eagles in the 3rd, but not many teams have a dire need for a TE. I thought the Bengals could've used a guy like Carlson, but they recently signed Ben Utecht to an offer sheet. Many teams have far more pressing needs at other positions than to go TE.

NOOOO on the Dorsey pick, not only is he hurt but its been made public the rams like Gholston and he would deffinetly fit the hybrid 4-3/3-4 that Haslet wants to start running...so after that give us Balmer and keep Caldwell

There wasn't anything accurate about the Saints pick.

The Saints picks defined accuracy, my friend.

CB is a definite need and McKelvin is money there.

The Saints need to build some depth at DT and Red Bryant is a perfect fit. His presence alone will open up more opportunities for Will Smith and/or Charles Grant.

Jeff Faine is gone and who knows if Goodwin, a backup, is the guy to step up in his place. Jeremy Zuttah was phenomenal at the Combine and received much praise. I read that many scouts liked him as a potential center, which is what the Saints need.

True, Gholston could certainly be the pick there. I feel that you're reading too much into what you read. Sure, there was all that speculation about Dorsey being banged up. I'm going to wait until teams bring him in for personal physicals and examine the heck out of him before I can make a definitive conclusion on his injury. If everything checks out though, Dorsey is the most dominating defensive lineman. Dorsey and Carriker in the middle would open up a plethora of opportunities for DEs to make some noise. Look at the Jags for instance. Reggie Hayard and Bobby McCray performed very well playing next to Stroud and Henderson. They were average players who put up very good numbers because of who they had next to them.

Also, you mention that it's been made public that the Rams like Gholston. It's also been made public that the Dolphins like Matt Ryan. The Falcons made it public that they're not placing an emphasis at QB. You can't trust what any team says at this point in time.

im personally not a fan of wr in the first but until the skins trade for a wr i can see why people keep putting it in mocks. i find it hard to believe that the skins would pass on laws and moore for a project like jones when he could even fall to rd3 being that he doesnt fit a lot of schemes and moore and laws are much better value and fit the penetrating dt style we want.

i dont know much about jack williams but the position is right.

I understand your idea that if Dorsey checks out he and Carriker will be beasts in the middle, the only problem is that they are both better 4-3 UTs and neither of them suits the NT position very well, also add to the fact that we have absolutely no DE depth; our best two right now are Little, who is old and a dirty murderer, and Adyanju, who has a bright future but is not elite, therefore we need more depth at the end position and on a side note our depth at the DT isnt as bad as DE considering our DT rotation is Glover, Carriker, and Ryan...you add dorsey and you get Glover, Carriker, Dorsey, and Ryan while our DE rotation is Little, Adeyanju, ****...so ill take a freak like gholston to give us a real pass-rusher and ill live with the DT rotation we have now, espcially if we can get a guy like Balmer in the 2nd

With DJ Hackett going to the Panthers I don't know if the Redskins have much choice to pass up on a WR in the 1st.

I understand the logic behind Laws and Moore, but wasn't Griffin and Montgomery a good starting combination? I look at Jones as someone to learn from the aging Phillip Daniels for a year before taking the position over. Jones could make an immediate contribution and play DT in 3rd down situations.

1.) Aqib Talib - Great pick
2.) James Hardy - Great pick
3.) Matt Forte - Bad pick. We dont need a RB. We need a TE. I'd rather go with John Carlson.
