Blanchett got robbed in the female supporting role in Notes of a Scandal, imo. Im glad Forest Whitaker won, great performance. Helen Mirren was also definitely deserving.

Im also glad that Scorsese finally got his oscar in directing, but Im not sure Departed should have won best picture. I think Little Miss Sunshine and The Queen were both better movies, personally. I havent seen Babel, and I just cant really get into modern day war movies (iwojima), no idea why, so I didnt see that movie either.

Personally, my favorite movie of the year was Apocalypto followed by The Descent, but I guess nobody shares my taste.

I didnt watch the whole thing, just the end to see Scorsese get best director and The Departed winning best film. This makes me happy Scorsese deserved and The Departed is one of my all time favorites already.

I only seen clips/trailer of it but from what I seen it looked like Forrest deserved his oscar. I am going to check it out sooner or later.
