Made this as kind of a different outlook to the different possibilities of the draft. It isn't exactly what has the best chance of happening.

With the 1st overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select...

Jake Long - OT - Michigan

Rather than wasting a pick on Matt Ryan, the Dolphins do the SMART thing and add a big guy on the line to give whoever their quarterback in 08 is time.

----
With the 2nd overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select...

Glenn Dorsey - DT - LSU

In an attempt to solidify the defensive line, the Rams should draft Dorsey in order to move last year's 1st round draft pick Adam Carriker over to defensive end.

----
With the 3rd overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select...

Matt Ryan - QB - Boston College

It's the popular pick, but the Falcons really have nobody at quarterback and Matt Ryan will bring leadership to a struggling team, and may find a way to win like he did so many times at Boston College.

----
With the 4th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select...

Chris Long - DE - Virginia

The Raiders decide to draft the son of one of their best players in franchise history in Chris Long. The defense should improve with the addition of him.

----
With the 5th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select...

Ryan Clady - OT - Boise State

The best player available that could make an immediate impact would be Ryan Clady, who should be a solid starter on an offensive line that struggled at times last season.

----
With the 6th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select...

Darren McFadden - RB - Arkansas

Drafting one of the most talented players in this years draft should build a strong rushing attack with Thomas Jones and McFadden in the backfield splitting carries.

----
With the 7th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select...

Mike Jenkins - CB - South Florida

Desperate for help at cornerback, the Patriots take a chance on Mike Jenkins from South Florida because of his experience at both cornerback and safety.

----
With the 8th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select...

Leodis McKelvin - CB - Troy

To aid an aging secondary the Ravens choose Leodis McKelvin to give him a chance to learn behind Chris McCallister and Samari Rolle.

----
With the 9th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Cincinatti Bengals select...

Vernon Gholston - DE - Ohio State

The Bengals have problems on the defensive line after losing Justin Smith to the 49ers and choose Vernon Gholston to try and make up for Smith.

----
With the 13th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select...

Rashard Mendenhall - RB - Illinois

----
With the 14th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select...

Jeff Otah - OT - Pittsburgh

Aqib Talib - CB - Tennessee State

Keith Rivers - OLB - USC

The Cardinals draft Keith Rivers due to lack of a true starting oustide linebacker.

----
With the 17th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select...

I like the Rivers pick, he may not be the pass rusher we need but I think we already have that guy on the roster in either Okeafor, Berry or LaBoy

Another option might be Antoine Cason generally speaking us here in AZ are high on him because have got to see him play a lot(obviously ASU fans don't like him but that is just nature)

Good Houston pick. Good Baltimore pick, BUT with Vernon Ghloston right there, Baltimore RUNS to the podium to hand the commissioner the pick.

No way the Saints pass on Ellis. CB class is deep they can get one in the second.

With reggie nelson off the board? Reggie Nelson was the safety from Florida last year-- you probably mean Reggie Smith

Connor is a bad pick. give us may be brandon flowers

not an awful bears pick, as otah will fill in our need at RT immediately.

though personally, i prefer chris williams to otah. williams can play either tackle or even guard right away, depending on where hes needed while i feel otah might be limited to RT only. plus williams has better long term, franchise LT potential IMO

Pretty good Chiefs pick but if the top 4 played out like that I think the pick will be Ellis.

Good mock.

giants pick is horrible

I don't know why the Panthers would spend their first rounder on Mendenhall. I love the guy and want the Lions to select him, so call me bias. But I don't see how Carolina, who have enough holes to worry about, select a second first-round running back.

The Jets passing on Gholston to take McFadden is really REALLY stupid.

No way the Ravens would pass up on Gholston. They'd be tripping up to the stage to present that pick.

You're killing me, Petey! Matt Ryan Again?

My G-O-D, what do we have to do to get our trenches stronger round here?

It seems as if everybody thinks our problems are at QB, when the QB (Joey Harrington) with the problems will not make it to August before being cut again. With an OL or DL in place we will draft top 10 again in 2009.

Disagree Sedric Ellis would be the BPA who could make a more instant impact

I like the Bills' pick.

03-22-2008, 04:08 PM
The Vikings won't be taking a WR in round 1, Childress doesn't value WR highly in round 1. The Vikings also just signed Bernard Berrian to be the #1 WR and they have Sidney Rice as the #2, so WR isn't a round 1 need. DE on the other hand is a huge need Derrick Harvey would be the pick at #17.

decent pats pick

Ew.. Lions won't/shouldn't take a CB in Round 1.. We lost Fernando, but we got Leigh Bodden.

We'd hopefully take Chris Williams, Derrick Harvey, or maybe Branden Albert there.

Not a big fan of Mike Jenkins on further review - he doesn't seem like someone the Patriots would draft at all. I might not even take him in the second round in the unlikely situation he's still available. Would probably prefer a Keith Rivers, Ryan Clady, or maybe even Derrick Harvey.
