Yea I know right! How many times during an actual game do you stand still, take off your pads and jump straight up in the air to make a play after all?

Sorry I haven't seen this posted before.

So Dave, even though you don't do that in a game you still don't think its impressive?

Tell me how high he jumps in pads and on in a game. I might be impressed then.

I wouldn't really call that a trick shot though. The guy made one easy shot. It was just pathetic that he set all that up.

He isn't jumping 66 inches, he's lifting his legs up closer to his body, you don't jump over hurdles when you're playing football.

I'd love to see someone trying to do that during a game.

While he is never going to do that in a game, it shows that he has explosive leaping ability, and that certainly does come in handy during a game. And beyond that, guys who can do that are just generally explosive athletes. If you can run a 4.3, a lot of other physical attributes go along with it and the same for having a 45 inch vert or being able to jump 66 inches like Adrian Wilson did. And his play on the field speaks for itself anyways.

That is impressive. People here shouldn't be hatin' on that because if any of you could do it, you'd have made a thread on here a long time ago bragging about yourselves.

02-26-2007, 01:16 PM
dave, how can you not be impressed? I bet if we let you jump 3 times like that your total wouldn't beat his one time jump. Don't hate just because you can't do it or that it doesn't relate to his game. Yea he doesn't have pads on but its still damn impressive and probably more impressive than anything you've done in your life.

Pretty cool. I mean, it's not even close to what a half-decent high jumper can clear, but they use an entirely different technique.

XxXdragonXxX
02-27-2007, 06:54 PM
He jumped probably about 40 maybe 45 inches inches. He lifted his feet above his waist to clear the over 20+ inches. Most safeties in the NFL have around a 40 inch verical, and that is done without a running start, I think you get like 1 step.

It's impressive, but it's not an actuall 66 inch vertical, and I'd bet he's not the only guy in the NFL that could do that....not even close.

02-27-2007, 09:27 PM
wow, i mean does it matter if he can or can't do that in a game, hes showing athletic he is.

some of you are acting real childish...."tell me how many times he takes his pads off and jumps straight up in a game", thats the lamest type of comment ever...

if it was so useless as you make it seem why would they continue to do the same thing over and over every year....did you ever stop to think that if he can jump 66 inches no pads straight up, how high he could probably jump running even with pads? scouts calculate that, they dont expect him to be jumping 66 inches every time he gets a chance to, but obviously you calculate times over to the football field....

same reason you do all those things with no pads on, running 40's and etc, so they can get an accurate time or strength measure and translate it to the field.....if you can jump 66 inches no pads, everyone is pretty sure you can jump high as hell regardless of whether you have equipment on or not
