Not a suprise for me. IMO I thought he was gonna run faster.

Not surprising. First, it's well known that he's quite capable of running sub-4.4. Second, it's yet another pro day number, which will always be faster than the relative combine number.

I like Godfrey a lot. I vividly remember how impressed I was with him early in the week at the Senior Bowl practices. Real fluid and he was able to stay in hip pockets of smaller, quicker wideouts. For me he's a definite 2nd round value.

I have said this for a while, but Godfrey is gonna be that surprise 1st rounder.

I've really developed a liking for Godfrey lately and if the Bucs don't addres CB before their 2nd round pick, I would be quite happy if he became the selection.

Agreed he'll definately push for the 1st imo

I really liked Godfrey as San Diego's first-round pick for a long time, then he dropped to Green Bay, now he's out of the first as a result of so many underclassmen. There's a chance I might have him ranked above Mike Jenkins next time I do my positional rankings, though.

I've liked him for a while. Great minds think alike, big guy.

For the longest time I thought he was so underrated. Nice to see him finally get some recognition. I wouldn't say 1st round just yet but definitely great early second round value.

Here's how I'd rank the top-10 corners as of right now:

1. Leodis McKelvin, Troy (1)
2. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee St. (1)
3. Aqib Talib, Kansas (1-2)
4. Antoine Cason, Arizona (1-2)
5. Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech (1-2)
6. Patrick Lee, Auburn (2)
7. Mike Jenkins, South Florida (2)
8. Charles Godfrey, Iowa (2)
9. Justin King, Penn St. (2-3)
10. Tyvon Branch, Connecticut (3)

I really want Green Bay to get him. I think he'd be great in the Bump n run

Hmm... band wagoners say he could be a surprise 1st rounder and Packers fans want him... First thing that comes to mind with the mix of those suggestions... I don't need to remind anyone of Ahmad Carroll, do I? Not saying Godfrey is "Batman" part 2, but he should not be a 1st rounder.

I think carroll tried to over compensate for his size and thats why he was over agrresive. this isnt the first time ive heard comparisons to carroll. but i still like Godfrey

Ahhh good look for Godfrey I too am really high on him...Best thing about him is he probably has his best football in front of him, he can get physical and aggressive and has the technique to be a sound corner....2nd round is just fine people are pushing it with rd 1...He certainly shouldnt skip over guys like Cason, but I could see him Porter depending on what a team needs and Flowers because of the off the field issues, but he would be hard pressed to find himself in round 1.

Godfrey had the slowest shuttle time and 2nd slowest cone time among corners at the Combine. A corner with no agility doesn't excite me at all. His last season in college he had 40 balls caught on him. Thats pretty high for a college corner, particularly one that's being considered in the early rounds. The guy looks like a 4th-6th round pick to me.

I agree, he seems more like a guy with great straight line speed than with quick twitch ability and hip flipping ability.

I like Godfrey as a safety prospect though. He would be a nice 3rd round safety prospect.
