If you know when you deleted the driver, you could just do a system restore and it would take your computer back to the point before you removed the driver.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx

If it's within a few days, then you should be straight. Backup any recently saved files/documents onto a USB flashdrive or CD just in case, but they should all still be there after the restore.

right click my computer/properties/hardware/device manager

you should see something under unknown devices...if you don't then i'll need to know what you uninstalled to help more....if it was a sound card driver....or wat...

Well, try a system restore, which will basically undo what you just did and undelete the driver

EDIT: lol, I wasn't smart enough to read the thread first

if it is just a driver that you need then just go to .... www.driverguide.com it is free to sign up and it has pretty much all of the drivers that you will ever need and they update them pretty often.

2nd ...if you have your windows disk put it in you dvd/cd drive and cancel any auto run and/or install then search the cd and see if that file is on there (check system32 folder mostly) and if so replace it on your computer(it will be in the same folder as it was on the cd) hope this helps.

ok, it's not bantx's problem, but it's still a comp help. so I let my cousin borrow my laptop while he went on spring break(I've got the PC at home, he gave me $5, whatever). So, I'm at practice yesterday and he dropped it off at my house. I come back to find my laptop with a sticky note on it saying "it wasn't my fault"

I turn it on to all these flashing spyware ****, popups saying i have all these viruses and such. obviously, he used my comp for some pr0n.

So any help to where I can clear all these annoying spy-ware pop up things? especially the flashing **** in the bottom right hand corner. The main one is something like virus heat. any help is greatly appreciated

I also got a random security toolbar 7.1 on the top under the url(address) bar, how do i get rid of that

what's a spybot search?

There is an actual program called "Spybot Search and Destroy", it's really good at removing things such as popups and all that. If you can't find that adaware is also OK at that sort of thing as well, but I'd stick with Spybot S&D if I were you.

that is a great piece of software... in the licence agreement, there used to be a section (don't know if it's still there) named "why this program is free" and the reason they gave was basically "because women are hot"

Best thing to do it reformat or reboot your computer.
Save any important things if you can. Try and clean out any crap with spyboot.
Also what kind of laptop is it, look online usually they have a certain button config. that is the easy way to reboot. Like for Dell its crt or alt and f10 or f11. Also you call up you manufacture and ask them who to reboot you computer almost like the day you bought it. There are 2 ways one is complete, where you have to reinstall the drivers, if you do this then call ask for drivers and stuff cds. Other why is its just like day 1, i forgot how exatly to do this one. But i ll try and find out.

God people use safe and trusted Porno websites.

ok since this is hear. I have had a problem with my computer twice, where after it being off for a period of time, i cant turn it back on. The power button just blinks this amber light. After a while though it would work. It took more than a day this last time.

Yeah, I think that's a bad power supply. Are there any beeps when you try to start it up?

And who makes the comp?

Alright, well if it beeps then you have a whole different set of problems.

Do any fans or noise come from the computer at all? Or is it just dead lol.

It seems to me like a basic power supply failure, which can be easily replaced (20-30 bucks at most).
Find out your specific model and try to place it in here.
