I'll go homer and say a sleeper pick is Chris McGaha.

Nope, William Moore will be the best safety in the nation.

William Moore is a stud. In my completely unbiased opinion, I think its safe to say that Chase Daniel, Jeremy Maclin, Chase Coffman, Tommy Saunders, Sean Weatherspoon, and William Moore are the top 7 players in the nation. The rest of the roster is just filled with top 50 guys, but that'll work I guess.

Taylor Mays might have something to say about who's the best safety in college football. And I'm honestly interested in what he has to say.

I was just going to say that Berry is one of my favourite players to watch. He is a fantastic playmaker and a highlight waiting to happen.

Yea he's a playmaker when he gets the ball in his hands. 5 INT's last year with over 200 INT return yards. There's talk of him being used in special packages for the offense next year. I don't know if thats true but it would be great. He's awesome!

Chad Jones is going to play the Nickel/Dime spot more than free safety next year anyway.

He'll rotate to the free every now and then, but hes mostly a guy they love to trot out there as a 3rd DB because hes so physical with great wheels. Perfect guy to cover slot receivers.

Since everyone is going homer, and all the main players have been named, i'm gonna say Sergio Kindle. He's finally gonna get the chance to start, and if you've never seen him play, dude's a monster.

I don't think he'll be top-10 next year, but I think Burton Scott has the potential to be for Alabama what Percy Harvin was in his freshman year.

Then who is gonna play the other safety spot opposite Coleman? I love McCray but would rather see Jones out there.

Chris McGaha, Rudy Carpenter, Darrell Scott, Cody Hawkins

Cody Hawkins the Colorado QB?

I don't see it. I've heard good things but watching him in a few games last year I wasn't to impressed.

I'm not an LSU buff by all means, but what happened to Curtis Taylor?

saintsfan912
04-08-2008, 01:00 PM
Not as good as MrCray or Coleman. He'll see tons of playing time though with the way we rotate our DBs. It's a crowded backfield but that's never a bad problem to have.

If everyone is going homer, then for TAMU I would have to say Mike Goodson or E.J. Shankle.

EDIT: Also, add Jeff Fuller to that list, if he gets a chance to start as a Frosh. He's probably our best WR already.

As of right now its probably McCray or Curtis Taylor (not sure which one. The other is going to be the nickel back).

Jones could very well win the job in fall practice but he hasn't yet. The staff likes him just where he is..as a 3rd or 4th DB because hes perfect to cover SEC slot receivers. He can manhandle the small guys, but keep up with them if they get by him.

You saw him almost run down McFadden in the Arkansas game this year. The guy can fly. He'll take over as a FS eventually but he hasn't yet.

Rudy Carpenter was a homer joke. Just like Benn being the 2nd most exciting player in the country. Surprised that Juice Williams isn't there either. =D

Well, outside of the obvious ones, here's one most people might not have heard of.

James Rodgers: indiscriminate athlete for The OSU. Averaged 11 yards a carry on 550 rushing yards. Noel Devine fast, and Noel Devine Short.
