A dream deferred is a dream denied... Perhaps one of the greatest lines in history.

I told myself to stay out of this thread but did I listen? No. I'm bad. I need to spank myself.
Now I want to make a joke about having a dream....sicle.

In my politics class we just got done talking about civil rights and liberties and thanks to this man African Americans, and minorities in general, have received these rights and liberties thanks in large part to the contributions made by Martin Luther King Jr. God bless!

MLK's contributions have become somewhat glossed as a means of over-generalizing the civil rights movement in the 60's.
That said, he's probably the greatest American of the 20th century The greatest American period in my opinion.

I don't try to rank great men, especially those cut down in their prime. There's no telling what he could have accomplished if he lived. It is possible that much of his message and his influence remains because he was cut down by an assassin at such a young age. He never really had a chance to push forward or see his dreams become reality. Kind of like how people remain enamored with JFK. He never had a chance to realize what he could become.

"If physical death is the price that I must pay to free my white brothers and sisters from a permanent death of the spirit, then nothing can be more redemptive." - Martin Luther King Jr. a true godsend
