THOMAS THE EARLY BUZZ OF THE COMBINE

The early reaction to the performance of Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas is that he'll end up being drafted No. 2 at the lowest.

Some scouts clocked his first effort in the 40-yard dash at 4.92 seconds.

And don't expect the Lions to try to trade down to No. 3. They're standing pat, we're told, at No. 2, and taking Thomas.

Before it's all said and done, don't be surprised if the Lions end up moving to No. 1 in order to ensure that they get him.
HAHA! The Lions might move up to take Joe Thomas! What a joke!

Funny.

It's funny because theres NO WAY IN HELL the Lions trade UP TO #1... from #2... to take Joe Thomas! The management isn't THAT stupid... they wouldn't waste the picks trading up ONE spot... to the most expensive spot... when other players can be picked in later rounds.

Lets see... trading our 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks (and other compensation) to move up one spot and draft Joe Thomas... OR drafting 3 players in his place. I'll take the 3 players anyday.

Yeah, we'd give up 4th Round pick and a 2008 2nd Round pick to move up one spot and draft an offensive tackle so we can pay him $60 million. Yep, totally believable.

Thanks for adding the real numbers/logic... I was missing it, but knew it was there somewhere.

I WISH the Raiders would take JThomas. I know that some feel it'll put us in a bad situation, but, in my opinion, it can only put our pick at a higher value. We could offer teams Quinn, Russell, Adams, Anderson, Peterson... the top offensive/defensive talents.

yeah u could be right teams below us looking at QB RB or WR could get scared is thomas is off the board for our pick because if that were to happen we could end up taking anybody

Wow....Wow

I might cry for a month straight if we traded up in the 1st round of this draft.

That would be ridiculous.. if that happened, I'd disown the Lions and start rooting for the Browns.

That would be ridiculous.. if that happened, I'd disown the Lions and start rooting for the Browns.I'd probably start rooting for the Bills... or... the... Cards? I loved the Bills draft last year, and the Cards seem to be moving in the right direction.

Trading up from #2 to #1 would be moving in the WRONG direction.
