Defense attornies are going to push for probation, but honestly with this tape I dont think thats likely...There is a whole 30 minutes of beating on tape that didnt get showed outside of the 3 minutes, I think its going to depend on the partners involved and ages...The girl who was the main culprit in doing the fighting, she will be getting a felony charge, the ones who were just in the background might get away with probation, but whoever was recording will get a felony for sure, and the two boys who were outside "looking out" more then likely will so also...


As far as not fighting back, I believe she was like 15 and obviously too scared to even try, she was trying to talk them out of it but there wasnt anything to really do, if she ran for the door she would of got mauled, and the girl standing in front of her was alot bigger and stronger then she was...Felt bad for her too...Another thing that doesnt bode well is the fight wasnt spur of the moment, it was planned and they lured her over to that house, I doubt the parent of the victim goes light on those getting tried.

Well, the Polk County Sheriff said that a couple of the girls would be charges with Kidnapping (which is a felony in FLA) because they forced the girl into a car after they were done beating on her and took her somewhere else...but I believe they are all going to be charged with "False Imprisonment" and "Battery" which could turn into Felony's...

I'm pretty sure that the video that is making the rounds is only a fragment of the actual event. The whole thing lasted about a half hour I believe and at one point all 8 girls were hitting the victim.

They didnt issue the entire tape, it was alot longer then 3 minutes, they were all beating her up, the 3 minute tape didnt show her go unconcious, only to come back to and get beat up more...and again, the girl was only 15, its not like this was a football playing high school jock who could take some punishment...The initial girl throwing the punches looked alot stronger then the tape made it seem especially after some shots to the temple.


And I wonder if thats true how they were acting in the holding cell, they still dont understand the ramifications of what they've done.

There have been a few situations like this in the past few days. I actually saw the commotion from one of them here at Ole Miss when I was going to English yesterday when a bunch of students, mostly girls got in a pretty serious fight in the circle. One of the girls apparently hospitalized 3 other girls after cutting them with a box cutter. An Ole Miss basketball player might have been involved, according to this article.

Well I don't agree with his whole "eye for an eye" thing. Revenge shouldn't be the way to go about things in my opinion. However, he's right about "not knowing what something is like until it's done to you." However, although that may be true, I still don't support the revenge factor. It's much harder to forgive. For what it is worth, I probably wouldn't shed a tear either if his scenario did occur.
