I've read that he could be a sleeper pick. Does he get drafted or sign with a team after the draft?

Based off of what he did in college I find it hard to believe that a team in the later rounds don't take a chance on him and bring him instead of seeing if they can get him as a UDFA. Danny Woodhead is another small school back that will be drafted at some point.

I think Omon will go higher than most think. I think anywhere from 4-7.

4 is a little high, but I could see him and Woodhead going as early as the fifth round.

Our feature on Omon is on his player profile here. It's hard to not get excited about a guy who is such a hard worker, has an NFL build, and as Brandon Carr (Grand Valley CB) told us, he's the rare back who has power and finesse. He isn't getting the attention he deserves because of this deep RB class, but he do more in the pros than some of the flashier guys who will go in the top 100.

The concern with Omon is how much mileage he has on his frame, because it is considerable. Beyond that, I would take this guy before a lot of other runners.

his build reminds me of a little of MJD but not (obviously) as ridiculously thick in the legs.

Look at his production, he can play but i think that he will be a late round pick and could be good in the NFL if he's givin an opportunity.

he'll go in the 4th or 5th.

Xavier Omon = Samkon Gado

I asked Xavier about this today, and he said he feels better today than when he started at NWMS, but what is he supposed to say?

That's probably exactly what his agent told him to say, lol.

I like this guy and think he'll make for a good late-round, Michael Turner-like pick for the team that drafts him.

The draft is stacked with RBs. He is probably a late rounder who excels when given a shot. Than theres Omar Cuff.

He reminds me of Kolby Smith

5th rounder probably, his body did take a beating though, when you talk about how much Ray Rice was beaten up as a concern, this guy has been beaten up twice as much.

From what (admiteddly little) I saw of him he didnt really stand out to me like a guy should at his level of competition if he wants to make it in the NFL

He carries his weight extremely well, however. He's nearly a prototype of what an RB should look like

But Gado was an UDFA, so are you saying that Omon is UDFA material?

im not sayin they'll get drafted in the same range, im saying their play is similar.
both are built alike and are both tough on the inside.
they can both break tackles but arent real elusive.

Reminds me of Nick goings.
