i think Jake Long would be on the field the whole game
and Chris Long will take a bit to learn the system

I think Jake would have the much more immediate impact and will be the better rookie.

I believe Chris Long would move to 3-4 OLB, no?

Darren McFadden!!

Chris Long is the realistic choice though.

I think he'll play both in different formations. This is why I voted Jake cause Chris will have to learn multiple positions.

Vernon Gholston should have been an option. I am going to laugh if Jake or Chris are not even the picks.

BTW, If JT is traded, I'd say Chris, if he's not, i'd have to go with Jake.

I think Chris Long would be a better 3-4 OLB then Gholston. Gholston is to ripped imo, he plays very stiff.

Jake Long. Case in point is Joe Thomas.

I agree with the selection of Jake Long. He starts from day one and helps to stabilize Sporano's new offensive line, which is very important as there will be a young quarterback behind center (be it John Beck or Josh McCown, or someone else?). Long will pass protect and run-block, the latter very important as they need to run the ball to carry the offense, and they've got a stud back in Ronnie Brown who is reportedly recovering very well.

Well... if it's a choice between Robert Gallery and Courney Brown... I'll take Robert Gallery (AKA Jake Long). I don't have a whole ton of faith in either guy, but think that there's a lesser bust factor with the OT.

You still go with Joe Thomas. Stud franchise LT's don't grow on trees. And while players like Peppers don't grow on trees either, LT is a much more important position then DE.

Chris long has the blood, but Jake long is massive and will make a difference in their offensive production.

I think because Miami has some good players who play DE/OLB like Porter and Taylor, Chris Long will not be starter, at least for a bit. Also, pass rushers tend to struggle as rookies. I think Chris is a better player, but Jake will have more of an impact as a rookie.

I voted Jake because I think he can come in right away and solidify that line...I do think if they keep Jason Taylor, Chris Long may be able to make a big impact if they line him up at OLB....

i went with jake. even if he comes in and is an adequate pass blocker and opens up some holes in the running game, hed be having a huge impact for a rookie OT. not everyones a joe thomas though

rookie DE's rarely have huge impacts. its not often you find a jevon kearse or someone like that.....

The draft is not about who is gonna be the best rookie, it's about who will have the best career...I think Jake will be a better rookie but Chris will have a better career

The question pretty clearly asks, "Who will have the biggest impact as a ROOKIE?"

There was nothing about career in that question.

Has to be Jake. There's only 1 OT on the Dolphins roster. By default Jake will be forced to make an impact where as Chris will have to battle to just see the field.

I know what the question was, but does that mean I can't say that the answer won't effect Miami's pick at all?

I think your answer to the question was sufficient.

If it's a choice between Thomas and Peppers, I'll take Thomas (albeit a more cogent comparison might be between Mario Williams and D'Brickashaw Ferguson) - you can make up for a lack of a stud DE; but if you have to make up for a weak LT, your entire offensive scheme gets thrown off.
