Close if theres a thread exactly like this, mods.

I'd take, Nmandi Asomugha and Darrelle Revis.

Revis is a homer pick. I see maybe the next Ty Law or Sam Madison.

Nnamdi Asomugha and DeAngelo Hall. Both are guys who can lock down the opposing WR and because teams never throw at Nnamdi, Hall would be able to opposing offenses pay for forced throws.

Just on potential alone, I go Aso and Cro. Cro has the ball skills and natural athletic ability to be as close to Deion as anyone has come since.

the fact that champ has only been mentioned once so far is pathetic. if we're saying there's going to be a game tomorrow and you had to chose the two best corners in the league as of this very moment, than it's champ and aso. not much to debate about.

I'm gonna be different.

1) Give me T-New, he can play the slot WR beautifully and stick with any WR step for step, he's all over finesse Wr's and will lock down a shifty WR without trouble

2) Al Harris to play those bigger WR's and get their hands on them and knock them off their route...Yes he's been beat before but so has Champ Bailey and Deangelo Hall, I love his physical style of play, and these 2 contrast eachother very well and would have no problem playing man to man vs another teams top 2 WR's.

Seems like most people found a way to mention someone from their own team despite them clearly not being the best.

Packers fans: Can you honestly quit mentioning Charles Woodson or Al Harris, neither are top 2 for sure. The thread didnt ask for top 5 or top 10 and their is only room for 2.

PS were still waiting for a Ravens fan to say McCallister, a Seattle fan to say Trufant, and a Lion fan to be proud of Bodden.

All im saying is dont say "Al Harris" when hes a great corner, but not top 2. And exspecially dont say "Charles Woodson" when your sig has a picture of AJ Hawk.

By the way, I do agree that people aren't looking hard enough at Antonio Cromartie's season last year. The guy obviously the played the ball exceptionally well, but his coverage skills still leave a lot to be desired.

No, quarterbacks will be forced to hand the ball off to runningbacks with the awful run defense of the Raiders.

Are people forgetting how much everybody hyped up the Champ Bailey and Dre Bly duo and it really turned out pretty bad (as far as the overall defense)? Granted the Raiders are a little better at safety but their defensive line is pretty bad.

Aso and Hall are the best duo in the NFL. No arguement is valid against them... Aso is without question a top 3 CB in the league, maybe number 1 depending who you ask, and Hall is definitely a top 10 corner.

After that you're probably looking at Harris/Woodson or Jammer/Cro (mostly because Cro easily has the potential to be the far and away best corner this year. Jammer is solid but not amazing.)

I think LeBron has NFL speed for some reason, though.

A year ago EVERYONE would put Champ #1 no question. Why is it that now some people don't have him even on their list? Ok, he might have had a down year with only 3 ints and a big play against him on monday night. The reason Champ had a "down year", if you can call it that, was because of his run defense and the fact he was playing injured almost all year. The run D in Denver was so bad this year and the only way they could stop the run was when Champ ran up and tackled the runner. This means he did get beat on a few plays, but they really didn't throw his way all that much. He had 84 tackles in 2007 thats a number a good SS would put up. The Broncos were 7th in pass defense even with Champ and Bly having down years, and no safety help in pass coverage.

Champ should be #1 on all lists.

My two would be:
#1 Champ Bailey
#2 Nnamdi Asomugha

I think LeBron has NFL speed for some reason, though.

NFL skill position players could probably give NBA point guards a good race in a 40 yd dash, However, if you make it a full court suicide, the PG's would torch them.

It's really all about how you train.

And as far as LeBron goes. Man, if he stuck with football, he would of revolutionized the game. The best athletes 6'6 or taller usually go with basketball, since there is more money in it, as well as less of an injury risk.
