I remember this day quite a bit; I know I got out of school early that day and flipped on the TV and saw what had happened. It was frickin nuts and then the stuff that the guy had sent to NBC really showed how twisted he was and I feel so bad for the 26 that lost their lives.

As a sidenote it was also the day I got accpeted into the University of Minnesota

These incidents always make me reflect back on life, I walk to class every day not even thinking things like this can happen where I'm at but now they are happening everywhere...I bet all of these students parents were thinking that couldnt happen to their son or daughter, so you never know...It makes you appreciate things, when people are killed going to class you know there is something wrong with this world...You raise your kids the right way, save for college and send them off the school, and they get killed over something senseless, just makes me sick.

RIP to those who are gone, definately wont be forgotten.

Maybe Im in the minority here but I like it better when we aren't reminded of tragedy's like this. It was an awful day and its nice to honor all the innocent people that lost their lives but just me, I really rather not talk about it.

RIP

Fair enough, I can see people not wanting to be reminded of it but if we let things leave our collective consciousness, then we, as a whole, are going to forget the important lessons that can be derived from events such as the VaTech shootings or any number of tragedies. Personally, I think it's good to remember those who were lost because if I lost someone I loved in a tragedy such as the shootings, I would hope that people wouldn't forget them.

i was going to make this thread but i was afraid that people would get upset and i did not want to remind anyone of this day.

plus it was 32 that got killed on this day 1 year ago. i live only about 30 mins away and no one around here has forgotten this day. i really was a sad day, one of the worse in history.

This is something that was horrible, and you know what might have been even worse?

Yesterday they arrested a kid on campus in Austin with a loaded gun. Apparently he had issues and supposedly had an agenda for today. Thankfully some students saw him with the gun, called the police and was arrested. I'm surprised that this hasnt gotten more pub than it should.

I don't wanna stir anything more than it already has, but there's too many arguments going on about the safety of students on campus.

It's sad that it takes things like VT and Columbine to open people's eyes about the safety hazards that are creeping everywhere that are going unnoticed. Tragedy struck a year ago today, and it's horrible that it took 32 lives to make people realize that our time here might not be as long as we could imagine.

Seeing as Im an big time hunter Im way way againist this. People shouldn't be ****ing morons. The gun didnt set itself off, someone pulled the trigger. Just because there are wacko's doesnt mean they have to ruin it for everyone else.

St. Johns University is a 45 minute walk or 15 minute drive from where I live. I can literally see my house from there. I used to go there before I transferred. I have friends who still do.

Sadly, unless someone gets shot, nobody past the local level will hear about it. :(
