Moves (FA pickups, trades, etc)

Salary Cap Info:

SALARY CAP/MONEY INFO!!!!! COACHES MUST READ!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLAYER STUFF IS BELOW, I STILL SUGGEST PLAYERS TO READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

80-89- 2mil a year
75-79- 1mil a year
70-74- 500K a year
69 and below- 250K

Okay new annoucement for all coaches to read!!!!!!!
The cap limit is 105,000,000!!!

You must now sign all 90+ players (and human players, but we already knew that) Currently all 90+ players on your team must be resigned before the draft, so please contact ATLdirtybirds about that. And ratings aren't the only factor to go by, because personality plays a role. For FA's with less than 90 you must still convince them to come to your team without using money.

Current cap numbers:

New York 43,250,000
Houston 43,750,000
New Orleans 47,500,000
Hawaii 48,000,000
Philly 46,500,000
Chicago 46,750,000
Las Vegas 46,000,000
Denver 46,000,000
Miami 46,500,000
__________________

CPU player's contract length is based on their age (except 90+). If a player is 25,30,35,40, etc, he is up for resigning when the season ends. When you resign a CPU prospect you are forced to sign him to a 5 year deal(once again except 90+), though you can still cut them and not have to pay a thing. If you sign a FA who is 27 he will be signed for 3 years.

i dont really think so. After a season where guys get hurt, get older, some will inevitably suck out loud, teams will start looking worse. I mean hell, I'll need a new QB and some new WR's if they keep regressing with age

Don't let players get better after a certain age.

Don't let players get better after a certain age.

i dont like the idea. like i said earlier, guys will take hits to their overall as they age, get hurt and/or suck out loud.

some guys will develop into stars but not all. i already know of some positions on my team that will have holes by next year, probably is the same for every team.

To be fair though, how often do you see a 30 year old football player get all-around better?

Maybe even earlier then that. You have to be smart though. Like it's much more likely that a QB learns a lot more later on then a DT.

ok, i think its a little silly to make a perma-cap on a guy. Or with age.

I keep saying, some guys won't play as well as projected and they'll lose points and some guys will get hurt hurt and lose points and some guys will get old and tired.

But to just slap a hard cap on everyone....i dont buy it.

Look at BRett Favre last season. late 30's and still playing great. Look at Tiki Barber, a RB who beat the 30-hump and played great until he retired thanks to splitting carries when he was younger and taking the wear off of him.

Everythings going to be situation and i just don't like the idea of capping guys. It'll make it so no one wants to sign vets anymore because they can't possibly improve which is just downright false in real life

neko4
05-19-2008, 07:13 PM
Tiki and Brett are rare examples though, there will be rare examples in the game as in real life

BeerBaron

Tiki and Brett are rare examples though, there will be rare examples in the game as in real life

rare examples but the potential is there for lots of guys. are you going to tell me that randy moss, TO, steve smth.....those guys arent still going to be great though thier age reflects otherwise?

i mean if we capped them, they wouldn't have had seasons like theyve produced recently.

i just think a hard cap is a bad idea
