You can't post things as if they already happened when they haven't. It's misleading and/or lying.

not even close to be the best two CB in history Sam Madison and Patrick Surtan were better as a team then thoese two would be

best in history? it would be a very good combo though

i wonder if the broncos are really considering this. i thought that foxworth would be fine in the mean time. him and another servicable cb from free agency or the draft and they would be fine.

i hear Hall wants the Falcons to go after him because they are good friends. it would be interesting to see schaub for the lions second and dre bly. is that even remotely possible? maybe a 3rd?

Gonna give Lions fans heart attacks. Could've at least thrown a question mark in there to make it less official looking.

We don't even really need another one, dom Foxworth is a fine starter and Karl Paymah is a suitable nickelback.

Mark my ords, unless the pass rush increases a lot, whoever is across Bailey is gonna look like Fred Thomas.

At why the exclamation point? a question mark would have been best, but an exclamation makes it look like it's final.

yeah honestly. with more of a pass rush the broncos will be fine.

blech. the only reason i see us making this move is to keep foxy at S. which is utterly moronic unless bates has convinced shanny that foxy is a terrible SS and lynch is a completely worthless FS.

There was trade talks earlier with the Redskins trying to get Bly. I remember reading an article about it in the Washington Post.

lol

That would not be the best duo in NFL history

Deion and Darrell Green played on the same team and champ bailey was the nickle

Dre Bly is nothing special, and putting him with Champ won't even be the best cornerback duo in the NFL today, let alone in history. I'd start Foxworth over Bly anyway. This trade probably won't happen, rumour mongerer.

Denver was one of the teams I thought would trade for Bly.. I'd like to see him out and any draft picks we can get for him would be great.

id say its probably bad depening on what they have to give up. they have foxworth still.

i dont want bly, because foxworth is better when you consider the skill:money ratio...

besides i would rather shop for someone else and trade up in the draft..

wHY IS DENVER IN ALL These talks??

You know how Shanahan is, take any other team's veteran cast offs and try to make it work

njx9
02-27-2007, 10:12 AM
that's how shanahan is? oh right, you're going to point to the browns defensive line as if that's indicative of his career.

"cast-offs" denver has taken since shanahan came to town:

champ bailey
gary zimmerman
mark schlereth
tony jones
alfred williams
neil smith
michael dean perry
ed mccaffrey
javon walker
howard griffith
ian gold
john lynch

and that's with about 12.3 seconds of thought. my assumption is that the only examples you have are plummer and the browns line.

I don't know what you guys mean who are implying that Bly is too expensive for the Broncos, he's under contract for '07 at $4.5m, that's a very reasonable number compared to what teams are going to have to spend to get a FA corner these days.

Now, if a team is going to insist upon having an extension worked out with Bly before making the trade, then that could get expensive, but that's a different story.

Bly would not be any part of a "best D-backfield in NFL history," though, I mean come on. He's poor in zone, average in man coverage, and gets burned deep. He does make plays though, he knows when to jump routes or come off his man to go after a pass thrown to someone else.

Personally, I am praying the Lions can get anything of good value for him, a thrid-rounder and a player would be great. I'd take Denver's third and Tatum Bell so fast it would make your head spin.

Geo

I wonder if Tatum Bell might be included in the deal. Bell is a productive, experienced back with only one year remaining on his rookie contract, which would serve the Lions well given that Kevin Jones might not return to form in 2007, and Bell would be even faster playing in the dome.
