Hey,
Just wanted to let everyone know that I made my "Super Sleeper Team" live.
This is a team make up entirely of guys who were not invited to the Scouting Combine.
You can check it out via the main page:

interesting list. brian witherspoon looks to be most interesting to me. with the emphasis on return men lately plus his blinding speed....some team should take a shot at him late. see if they can develop him into anything

I could see Johnston going as high as the 3rd. Chester Adams could make a team as an RT. Pig Brown has a sweet name!

No Jamar Brittingham at Running Back? There's several good RBs not invited to the Combine, such as Delaware's Omar Cuff, Allen Ervin from Lambuth, and an intruiging one in Danny Woodhead. Still, what do you think of Brittingham in the late rounds? To me, he could really fit the bill in a power running scheme and is a worthy gamble in the 6th-7th Round. I hear Atlanta's been sniffing, which makes some sense.
I see Brown and Bernadeau sneaking into the Late 3rd-Mid 4th Round range, though many analysts project them each more in the 5th Round range.
Pig Brown is another worth a definite look late on draft day.

I am leading the Brian Johnston bandwagon, I love that guy. He might be the next Jared Allen.
Think about it:
* He's got good size
* He worked out extremely well
* He was extremely productive in college
* He notched two sacks at the Hula Bowl
What more does this guy need to do? I would take him in the 3rd or 4th round in a heartbeat!

Lance Leggett *skakes my head*
Sadly, his triangle numbers alone will have him drafted...higher than many expect. A scout I talked to during the season said he has a grade roughly in the fourth round area...I shook my head and laughed.

I have also been on the Brian Johnston Bandwagon since the Hula Bowl. I don't see any way he gets out of the 3rd. He closes on the QB like an animal. He has great strength at the point and plays with natural leverage. Needs to refine hand placement and technique.

Everytime I see him, I think "That guy does NOT want to play football."
He even had his own coaches fooled. Many of which had been with or around the program for a few years now. They went into the year thinking they can finally get this 6-foot-4, 190 pound wide receiver, who runs a legit 4.4 (on occasions, even sub-4.4), who can pass any triangle numbers test you throw at him and be amongst the elite, to play half as close to what his triangle numbers tell you too...and just couldn't do it.
Had them seriously fooled and embarrassed about mid-way through the season. It was players like Lance that gave the staff hope for a 8-and-whatever record...just couldn't put it together for whatever reason.
Lance wants it...he really does...dude was in tears when he couldn't travel with the team during his senior year. Vowed to come back and finish the season like he was supposed to play throughout it, but there is a road block there somewhere. You need a psychologist to figure it out.
One of the nicer guys you'll meet too. I have nothing but good things to say about Lance off the field. A guy who truly bleeds to the orange and green...just something doesn't work on the field. No idea what it is...but A doesn't connect to B.
At best he is a truly poor man's version of Ashley Lelie, but it'll take some serious work with him to get there.
Scott, I know Leggett has good measurables, but the guy can't catch and just doesn't seem to want to play football.
I would bet a lot of money that he never catches over 20 passes in an NFL season.

Haha no. His name's Cornelius. He was having an absolutely fantastic season until the injury I felt bad for the guy.
"Steve Begemann (Jackson, Mo): Whats yur favorite food to eat since your mom says thats all you did was eat when you were a kid. That is how you got the name "Pig" right?
Mike (Chicago): It is because of your unique name that I started rooting for Mizzou especially after your return for a TD against Illinois. Where did you get your name from and is there meaning behind it?
Pig Brown: When I was younger, I ate a lot. I was sloppy, and I just had the mentality of a pig, and my Mom said, 'you eat like one, you act like one; that's what I'm going to call you,' and that just stuck. As for the favorite food, it's hot dogs -- back then and now."

As for Brian Johnston who somewhere i read was drawing interest from Seattle, New England and Tennessee(for what that's worth),at what point do people stop raving about him as a 3rd rounder and start mentioning him in the top 50 picks or so? If he is potentially in the Jared Allen class wouldnt that be worthy of a higher pick?

Speed? 4.82 40 for a Safety is unacceptable. I love Silva, just doubt he'll be drafted. A nice looking undrafted free agent who could be a monster on Special Teams.

I agree with Nate Lyles, you can't argue his production on the field, obviously a lot of coverage lapses but he is a big time hitter. He sort of reminds me of Dawan Landry and put in the right system he could develop into a good player, at the least he has a chance to make it as a special teamer. I was actually very surprised by his 40 time.

Yeah Temple definitely opened some eyes he really could be a great sleeper, at HB I think Tim Hightower can end up being a very good back. It might take him a while and some stints in lower level football but eventually I see him as a Reuben Droughns type back.

Here is some stuff people probably dont know about Brian Johnston...
Gardner-Webb defensive end Brian Johnston could go as high as the third round. I have heard many scouts from 4-3 teams say they absolutely love him. Few know this, but his 10 yard split at his Pro Day was the same as Darren McFadden's. Also, his Pro Day shuttle time bested every defensive lineman and running back at the Combine in Indianapolis! I think Rashard Mendenhall may've tied his number, but the dude is a freak. I know a lot teams think he could be the next Aaron Kampman or Jared Allen.
Also, DD.com friend/ contributor Josh Buchanan has told us former Gardner-Webb star Brian Johnston is drawing very heavy interest from Tennessee, Kansas City and the N.E. Patriots. Tennessee has a coach that went to Gardner-Webb so they know a lot about him.
Guy is a freak, somebody is getting a steal with him, he's a 3rd rd pick at worst now.

Scott!
thanks for putting Tony Temple down, but i feel that Marcus Dixon DT/DE Hampton, Bobbie Williams S Bethune-Cookman, Nick Watkins WLB Clemson, and maybe Pierre Garcon WR ? should all get some looks there.

Agree! I'd feel more comfortable with him in the mid rounds than Merling and even Gholston in the first
Also, I know he's a kicker...but Steven Hauschka was MONEY last season. He's got the leg, and he's got the accuracy. The only reason he isn't the K teams are after is because he flew under the radar at a DIII school in Massachusettes for the first three years of his career

As do I.
As do 32 sets of NFL personnel crews.
As do X-number of draft analysts, bloggers, talking heads, etc. etc.
Doesn't make one persons opinion any more valid, my friend.
So what is your point?

If you guys want a sleeper, look up Derrell Sapp of Montclair State- '
http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080227/SPORTS/80227139/1023/SPORTS
6-2, 330, 42 Bench Reps (5 more than combine leader), 28 vertical, 5.2 40.
Played D3 so it was against lesser competition but his workout numbers are off the charts. Definitley worth a late round pick.
(And as a side note, is a Long Branch, NJ native who went to Montclair. Same as Pro Bowl Linebacker of the Saints and Panthers, Sam Mills)
