It is being reported that Dewayne Robertson is being traded to the Denver Broncos. I'll try to find a link.

I still think they go Clady if he's there....

Chris Williams is their favorite OT so I don't think Clady is an option plus with 3rd rounder Harris there I think they pass on OT and go for a RB

Sweet deal for the Jets. Getting him off the books is absolutely huge, and getting anything in return for him is fantastic. Two picks, even if they're late day 2 picks, is a great deal for Robertson. The trade up a few years back obviously doesn't look good now but this regime didn't do it. Hopefully Robertson continues to stay healthy and play through pain as he did in New York, his efforts and toughness were not appreciated because he didn't meet expectations but really should have been. I wish him all the best in Denver and hope the scheme switch and change of scenery do him some good.

Heres the link and story

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3365432

"The New York Jets traded defensive lineman Dewayne Robertson to the Denver Broncos for an undisclosed draft pick or picks, ESPN.com's Bill Williamson reported Thursday.

Dewayne Robertson

Robertson

The Jets had agreed to send Robertson to Cincinnati on the first weekend of the NFL trading period for fourth- and fifth-round picks, but because of a knee issue he didn't pass the Bengals' physical.

The Broncos were close to trading for him in mid-March but talks stalled when the team suddenly fired general manager Ted Sundquist on March 12. Sundquist was the point man in the talks with the Jets.

Robertson's contract will have to be restructured and the Broncos have been in on- and off-again talks with his agent, Hadley Engelhard, for several weeks. Robertson is due a $3 million bonus in June and has salary cap number of about $11 million for this season. Thus, Denver would have to redo the deal to make it fiscally worthwhile, especially with the Broncos in a cost-conscious mode this offseason.

Robertson, 26, was the No. 4 overall draft pick in the 2003 draft out of Kentucky. He had 57 tackles for the Jets last season."

The New York Jets have traded defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson to the Denver Broncos for a late-round conditional 2009 draft choice, reports NFL Networks' Adam Schefter.

A bit surprised that's all it took, but the medical concerns and the fact that the Jets were going to move him probably limited their options.

All in all, a good gamble for Shanahan. I think they should still think about a DT high, but I imagine it might slide down a bit now, perhaps to their 4th rounders.

Looks like it's LB/RB/OT/WR for the Broncos first two picks.

late round 2009 conditional pick...pretty solid trade for the Broncos. Him and Thomas should form a solid duo.

the Jets didn't get a whole lot, i'm hoping its a 5th rounder next year, but the bigger issue for us was his influence on the cap. He has a monster contract and given the sytle of defense, it made no sense to keep him, therefore i'm happy to have gotten anything.

I personally always liked Robertson, he has bad knees that have really hurt his young and promising career, but he was still a gamer who didn't complain and went out and did the work that he clearly wasn't meant to be doing (see Vilma). I hope he does real well for the Broncos, and i expect him to.

Assuming his contract is restructured to something reasonable, i think its a good trade for both sides

Yeah, realistically, he could be a monster for the Broncos, but he's worthless to the Jets, so just getting him off the books is a plus. All in all a good trade.

I was kinda hoping the Saints would've been interested in trading for him.

Talk about a bad return on high investment.

I dont why people think the Broncos want anyone else more then Chris Williams, they wouldn't take Clady over the guy that protected Cutler before...And surely a RB isn't as important in Denver as Cutler's blind side.

Man the Broncos really have a hard on for dlinemen that are first round busts.

I might just be naive, but why would the Broncos consider taking Jonathan Stewart in the 1st round. Just about anybody they put in the backfield will run for 1,000 yds. Their run defense has been atrocious for the last couple of years, and I would think they would focus on the front 7 even though they just aquired Dewayne Robertson, and spent two high picks on the D-line last year. Just an outsider's observations.

care to quote ANYTHING that suggests denver likes williams more, other than the "ZOMG ****ING VANDIEEEE!" crap? how about two years ago, when we didn't even talk to cutler, then picked him anyways?

think whatever you want about who we'll take, but your argument for it is crap.

Face it, your drafting Chris Williams, and your going to like it. That is all.

i still think denver goes DT early and takes clady in the first. mostly because i think he'll drop to him if KC takes gholston

Well, they have addressed the front 7. Their biggest need IMO has been DT, I honestly could not tell you who would start besides Marcus Thomas at DT before this happened.
LB's, the biggest thing they did was cut Ian Gold, and move DJ to weakside. I am hoping the new MLB they signed from Seattle, Niko something, can be a promising starter, and then theres Boss Bailey who I hope is at least adequate.
