Anyone feel like posting the top 5 (or top 10) prospects at each position for next year? SR's and JR's included.

Check fischbowl's rankings that he posted. Pretty good stuff.

Including underclassmen these are probably my prelimary rankings. I'm probably going to get alot of flak for not having these guys: Chase Daniel, CJ Spiller, Fili Moala, Michael Johnson, Terrance Taylor and Myron Rolle.

My arguments for deciding to leave them off: Chase Daniel doesn't have the size to garner serious attention from NFL scouts. He also plays in a pass happy offense. He isn't quite the prospect that Drew Brees was. However I really do like him and hope he will be given a chance in the NFL.

CJ Spiller is too small and doesn't have the requisite power to be taken very high as an RB. If he puts on an absolute show during workouts he might be a borderline first rounder but I expect him to be taken as a change of pace back in the second or third.

Moala is someone I've never been personally impressed with, having watched him a few games.

Johnson might have the best skill set in the world but until he actualizes that potential I won't consider him a top prospect especially with a slew of underclassmen DEs on his heels (with Ricky Sapp, Jeremy Jarmon and Auston English being guys I didn't have room to include).

Terrance Taylor is a big space eater but has a poor motor and needs motivation. Seeing how quick, peneterating, high motor, hard working DTs were in demand this pass draft I see a fall for Taylor.

Rolle needs to work alot on his coverage skills before he is a top prospect at S, especially in this deep class. He's a very cerebral player so I wouldn't be surprised if he really puts it together this year though.

If he keeps getting better like he has, there's no way Stafford winds up 5th. It shocked me until I saw your sig.

few things about those rankings...

a)stafford will be a top 3 QB prospect next year, especially if he continues in his progression

b) i like your corner rankings

c)there is no way that myron rolle is not considered a top 5 safety prospect...your a crazy man if u think otherwise

d) ditto for CJ Spiller...kid has mad dangles

e) Tyson Jackson deserves to be #2 on that DE list

f)Johnson should be on hte DE list, since we are speaking about PROSPECTS, someone will draft him high simply based on his potential...he could be all world with that skillset

g)i agree about chase daniel, he lacks height, and i think he will wind up suffering from troy smith syndrome

h)Loadholt over black...loadholt will test ridiculously

thats about it, i think...

Britt is damn good. If more people saw him play they wouldn't question that at all. What's confusing me is how people are leaving him off their rankings.

If he keeps getting better he could wind up number 1, absolutely. I assume that the other QBs will also get better however and assuming a prospect will progress does not necessarily always happen (i.e Matt Leinart, Brian Brohm, Marcus Vick etc). I don't see how my sig has anything to do with it. I am a Percy Harvin fan, but I have him third on my WR rankings. I also have an UGA DT at the number one spot...

I think Unger should be higher and Britt should be lower. Pegues is a safety in my opinion, but he is very versatile and can play every secondary spot plus he is a great returner. Good to see Peria Jerry on the list, he is a solid DT who is pretty unknown. Seems like you watch a lot of SEC football.

I love the respect for Greg Hardy, he's a beast and I think he can be the #1 DE if he comes out.

A) Stafford certainly could be a top 3 QB next year, I don't doubt it. I don't necessarily think my ratings are the be all and the end all of projections, there will definitly be alot of fluctuation between now and then. Nonetheless I will defend my choices.

B) Thanks

C) Lol, I guess I'm crazy then. I'm not at all impressed with Rolle's coverage ability.

D) Yeah, Spiller is a gamebreaker. I'm not sure how well his game will translate to the next level though. IMO he is a slightly better prospect than Steve Slaton. Now if he manages to bulk up a bit and shows the ability to run betwen the tackles obviously that would change.

E) I like Jackson as well, It's just that he is a prototypical 3-4 end or a strong side end that can play the run and the pass. Those type of players seem to take a backseat to the pass rushing specialists come draft day.

F) Johnson, had 21 tackles, 6 TFl and 4 sacks last year. Sure he was a rotational player for the most part but even with his skillset I don't see him being a top 5 DE if the best underclassmen declare unless he steps up his production big time. I think Josh Barrett and Dre Moore showed this year that players need more than ridiculous athleticism to be drafted high (although Kentwan Balmer contradicts that).

G) Agreed.

H) Loadholt has a world of potential. Frankly I rated the top 4 of my OTs all about the same and the differences I see between Boone and OT's #6-9 (Eugene Monroe, Xavier Fulton, Andrew Gardner, and Will Barker) is also negligable. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Loadholt was a top 5 pick.

That's probably my biggest bias. I have no particular favourite college team but I tend to watch alot of SEC and Big Ten ball. With a little bit of Big East and ACC (mostly VT, Miami, Boston College, Syracuse, Rutgers and UConn). As far as the rest of the country goes I tend to get USC, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Nebraska and Texas games but not a whole lot else. I hardly ever get to see MAC, WAC, Sun Belt, Conference USA or Mountain West games so I'm never exposed to their players except during Bowl season.

I've been working on my early rankings. I can probably post them when I'm done, but right now it's seniors only.
