This is cool, go to Redskins.com and click the video for landry vs portis race. You can tell Portis has that Denver speed back since Landry ran a 4.35 40 yard dash last year at the combine. check it out, its worth it.

I love Portis and he still has some speed as shown, but too bad that offensive line and offense never give him a chance to display his breakaway speed......... will that change this year under Jim Zorn?

Im guessing Landry isn't a 4.3 anymore with that added bulk. Probably a 4.4 guy now, which is why Portis can hang with him.

But Landry is going to beast it. I felt the 2nd half of last season, when he moved to FS, that he was the best FS in the league already, in his rookie year. He was that good.

He's going to have a monster year if they let him play single high safety.

Just a little homer fact...Willie Parker ran a 4.4 a month after breaking his leg! I wonder what his speed would be healthy??? :)

i apologize for the fellow steelers poster attempt at trashtalk. Woodley has played like 8 snaps, Ray Lewis is a HOFer. Atleast mine was good.

That offense had arguably the best LT and best LG in the NFL at the time. As well as Mack Strong, owner of one of the most badass names in NFL history. The Redskins have none of those.

Chris Samuels and Pete Kendell are Very good, not the best in the league but far above average and Mike Sellers is a man child against babies...Cooley also blocks well, I expect Portis to have a great year.

Who cares about all this mvp, Laron ran a 4.35 at the combine last year so if Portis can tie Laron after all the beating he has taken then he obviously hasn't lost a step and has recovered from those injuries the previous 2 years. Laron and him are going to have beast years.

FloridaFootball

well we have a 6 time pro bowl Left Tackle in Chris Samuels

http://www.nypost.com/seven/11262006/photos/jets096.jpg And we traded a 3rd round pick for Pete Kendall, hes a decent guard thats overall very good...

Portis has a "GOOD" line to work behind, if they can all stay healthy then expect big yards and lots of touchdowns.

Nice! Laron beat him by just a step too.

Still, that's pretty damn impressive for someone like Laron, who is bigger and far more jacked to be able to beat out Clinton Portis, if you ask me.

Laron was easily my favorite player going into the draft last year, so it sucked to see the Redskins get him, haha.

Anyways the Skins are far from a bad O-line. Chris Samuels is a perennial pro bowler, Randy Thomas and Jon Jansen are pro bowl level players, and Casey Rabach and Pete Kendall are both above average starters. As for our backups Stephon Heyer started last year at RT, and is easily a future starter. Also on the bench we have Todd Wade and Jason Fabini who also have tons of starting experience, not to mention the draft addition of Chad Rinehart. As for our FB, Mike Sellers is top 5 in the league, and Portis is a top 10 blocking back in the league.

Most of the WR in the NFC-E have good size, but god forbid Desean Jackson go down the middle against the Skins anytime soon. He will get broken in half.

Yes. Shaun Alexander showed opposing defenses a picture of John Lynch's ass and ran by them as they stared at it. During the Madden 2007 cover ceremony, he lost the picture and hasn't been the same since.

Well I don't want CP to know he's a good blocker, he gets hurt too easily because he'll throw his entire body on every single play, love the passion, but when you are the workhorse RB I don't want to see you go down. A shame that a guy like Ladell Betts who is a backup who wants to impress coaches to get more carries is a complete puss and can't block.

Yeah Landry actually was playing at his combine weight (completely jacked) when playing SS. After the passing of ST throughout the weeks he slimmed down a lot.

But now he can cover sideline to sideline, and still get a beast hit in lol.

I will never forget the wiff on ed reed that caused the fumble that went for 6 against the ravens. I really have no idea how Betts still has a job. He has had to lose way more games then he has helped us win.

That's what I like about him is his range, he can cover the entire field, lay a killer hit, or play both safety positions...

And I'm not sure what his weight was at the combines, but he looks completely jacked up since then, alot more mass on his body.

Landry hasn't changed at all since last year's combine, he was just as jacked gthan as he is now. He was easily my favorite player coming into the draft last year, and is my favortie player of any of the last three. As far as the Landry love goes, I may be number three on this site...

True but our line was the best line in the league the 2nd half of that season. He had holes big enough for Casey Hampton to get 5 ypc. He did lose 3 games for us in his career because of a fumble, and he never hits the endzone.

Anybody could have ran through those holes our OL was producing. That was the last time every member (besides Dock leaving and Kendall coming) had been healthy.

We should have traded him after that season for a 3rd or something.

Jim Zorn implemented the offense that won Shaun Alexander the MVP. Imagine, Portis in the same offense.

Implementing and executing are two different things.
It depends on the blocking, and remember Seattle had a Pro Bowl quality passer with many receivers that defenses worried about.

Washington with Jason Campbell do not command that kind of respect from defenses so they're going to face a lot more 8-man fronts to stop Portis. I know y'all love Campbell, but he's not in the smae league as Matt Hasselbeck is as a passer.

But because of that, he will have plenty of passing opportunities with single coverage so he should put up some big stats.

I have Portis in a keeper league so I'd love to see 1600 yards and 15 TDs from Portis.........especially since my team the Packers don't play the Native Americans this season.
